Chevy Malibu Vs. Nissan Altima, Interior And Comfort

The interior sizes of the Nissan Altima and Chevy Malibu are almost identical. They will both take up the same amount of space, and just about anyone can sit comfortably with large amounts of legroom and decent headroom for anyone but the tallest of individuals. Furthermore, each has just over 15 cu ft of interior cargo space, meaning they can carry the same amount of luggage. Interior features on both include Bluetooth connectivity, keyless ignitions, and cruise control standard. The only baseline feature of the Malibu is its built-in parking assistance, a component that is only available on the higher-end models of the Nissan Altima.

What about comfort? This is where the Chevy Malibu falls short. The Nissan Altima comes prepared with Nissan's patented Zero-Gravity seats. These ultra-comfortable front seats provide support and encourage the spine's natural position, allowing you to enjoy long drives with minimal discomfort.

Advantage: Nissan Altima

Chevy Malibu Vs. Nissan Altima, Value

New and used Nissan Altima and Chevy Malibu models have similar price points. The latest Altima is about $1,500 less expensive than the current Chevy Malibu, making it a slightly better price for each dollar spent.

Advantage: Nissan Altima

Nissan Altima Breakdown

The Nissan Altima has been one of the most reliable and reasonably priced four-door sedans since the early 90's. It is the most comfortable ride on the road available today and hasn't stopped delivering year-over-year since its release. It has a solid exterior aesthetic and has been redesigned several times. However, the Nissan Altima is a template for many contemporary sedans and thus doesn't strike too much of a unique facade.

Honda Accord Vs. Nissan Altima

Two massive names in the mid-sized car market have worked tirelessly over the past several decades to cement themselves as major players in the US auto market. The Honda Accord has been on the market since the mid-70s, and the Nissan Altima first graced the roads in the early 90's. Honda Accord Vs. Nissan Altima, Safety

RAM 1500 Vs Nissan Titan XD

While the Ford F-150 dominates the popular market, it is by no means the best full-sized pickup out there and has rested on its laurels and fierce marketing for years. The Nissan Titan XD and Ram 1500 are two of the best competitors on the market that consumers often overlook despite being superior in several departments. Less expensive and just as compelling as their contemporaries, both Nissan and Dodge have brought their best to bear in the modern generation of post-2020 pickups. However, while each is great, which is better? Let's take a shallow dive into the specs each and throw them into the arena to battle it out head to head.

To begin, the Dodge Ram 1500 and Nissan Titan XD share several similar traits in the baseline kits of each. Both are available in AWD and RWD models with several trim options that serve various purposes. Each has a relatively new and modern aesthetic and sports a comfortable ride that is comparable across the board. Furthermore, each technology is similar, though one has a slight edge to its interior. Finally, while the prices differ, several packages available across the Ram 1500 and Titan XD ensure that whether you are considering a new or older model, there is probably a variant to fit your needs.

Head To Head: Engine Specs

The newest Dodge Ram 1500 and Nissan Titan XD models could not be more different. While the Titan XD has a much more potent baseline engine, that is where it ends, as no matter the trim, the horsepower, and capacities will not change. However, the Ram 1500 has several options, although only the premium headliner version can stand up to the baseline of the Titan XD. So which is better? If you are considering only the base models, the Titan is far superior, although if you are willing to pay almost $20,000 more than the already pricey base model of the Ram 1500.

Regarding towing, the Ram cannot stand up to the Nissan Titan XD. Even with the most robust engine type, the Ram 1500 falls behind by at least 1,000 lbs of weight, trading an increased torque for a frame that is not as robust as the Titan. For engine specs, while it comes down to preference and your need for instant power, the Titan XD wins out with its power and consistency across the board.

Interior Comparison Between the Nissan Tixan XD and Ram 1500

Depending upon the cab type, the Nissan Titan XD is roomier and more comfortable than the Ram 1500. Although the extended cab option on the Ram improves the backseat passenger experience, the choice will come down to your personal needs. However, the interior design of the Nissan Titan is much more considerate and feels more prominent thanks to its sleeker and contemporary design.

Conclusion

The choice between the Ram 1500 and Nissan Titan XD ultimately comes down to what you are willing to spend and how much you value the baseline models. Out the gate, with no options and special treatment, the Titan XD is vastly superior to the Ram 1500. Although the Ram has the possibility and more versatility in its design when considering all trim options; furthermore, what the Titan has a baseline the Ram needs to compensate with ever more expensive and needless additions.

GMC Canyon Vs Nissan Frontier

While shopping for a mid-sized truck that can perform on and off the road, you may have come across the GMC Canyon and Nissan Frontier as front runners in the competition. Here we will take a look at the similarities, differences, and pros or cons of owning one of these headliner trucks.

GMC Canyon: Pros And Cons

The GMC Canyon is the youngest of the pair, the first generation starting in 2004 when the Nissan Frontier was moving into its second. With a recent overhaul, the Canyon has joined the Frontier in its third generation and brings all of the modern amenities you would expect from a post-2020-era vehicle. Some of the standout features include a robust towing capacity of up to 7,700 lbs, which is one of the best for mid-sized trucks, although it still falls well short of the massive power of other larger vehicles.

Unlike the Nissan Frontier, the GMC Canyon has several more trim options, including an optional diesel engine variant that is non-standard for this truck class. However, there are also several cons to the GMC Canyon that may make it a dealbreaker for you:

  1. Every model of the GMC Canyon sports an incredibly drab and utilitarian interior, even on the most luxurious trim options. The GMC Canyon may have seen performance and body structure overhauls, yet it fails to stand up to modern aesthetics and seems locked in the early 2010s.
  2. The newest models only come with a 2.4 liter I4 engine which pales compared to the potent 3.8 liter V6 of the Frontier.
  3. GMC has one of the least consumer-friendly warranties on the market, at three years/36,000 miles for the base warranty and the powertrain.

GMC Canyon Vs. Nissan Frontier Similarities

Despite their differences, the GMC Canyon and Nissan Frontier are mentioned in the same breath, held to a high standard, and each brings a solid foundation to the mid-sized truck market. The most significant similarities between the two include the following:

  • Available 2WD and 4WD options
  • Several trim options and various additional features
  • Modern standard features like Apple Car Play and Android Auto
  • Offroad juggernauts that perform well in a multitude of road and weather conditions
  • Spacious cabs with extensive storage and several bed sizes

Nissan Frontier: Pros And Cons

The third generation of the Nissan Frontier is a relatively new addition that has propelled the brand into the modern age of trucks. A more powerful engine than the competition and incredible performance make it a fantastic multi-use vehicle that can tow, haul, and take on rugged terrain. Further, it has some sturdy offroad models, including the incredible Pro-4X that provides the smoothest and best performance off the beaten path. Along with its robust and comfortable interior with a sleek and modern feel, the Frontier is a contender for one of the best trucks when it comes to offroad capabilities.

Additionally, the Nissan Frontier has always had a lower price point than other comparable vehicles, and you will undoubtedly find one in your budget, whether it is new or used. However, the Frontier does have a pair of issues that may turn buyers away. It has a lower, although still good enough, towing capacity, and its lesser number of trim options may not have the exact model you need.

Verdict

The GMC Canyon and Nissan Frontier are solid trucks, and you wouldn't find yourself wanting, no matter your choice. Although regarding the kind of performance most people want from a mid-sized truck, the Nissan Frontier is the clear front runner.

Honda Ridgeline Vs Nissan Frontier

need perfectly, while the other seems to fall short. So, what are the differences, and which vehicle is better for you and your lifestyle? Check out our short breakdown below and find out.

Pros And Cons Of The Honda Ridgeline

Examining the most recent five years of the Honda Ridgeline's history, you may find a premium mid-sized truck built upon a nontraditional framework that focuses on options and is not constructed on the usual ladder truck frame. The building style of the Ridgeline is the first consideration that can turn some buyers away or incentivize someone looking for something new. Which are you? Does the body style matter?

What does the unique body style of the Ridgeline mean? Thanks to its more versatile build style, the Honda Ridgeline promises extra storage space in the cab, and it is slightly larger than others in its class. Further, it has some of its class's best safety and collision protection features.

However, the Ridgeline falls behind the competition as it is only armed with a single-minded purpose. The Honda truck does not perform well offroad and is not built with rough terrain in mind. This drawback makes the Ridgeline a poor work truck outside of cities and keeps it locked into a particular niche. Furthermore, on average, the Honda Ridgeline is considerably more expensive than its competitors in both new and used markets.

Pros And Cons Of The Nissan Frontier

The Nissan Frontier is a veteran of the mid-sized truck market and has a history of refreshing itself to always be relevant in the modern scene. With its most recent redesign in 2022, the Frontier now leads the pack as one of the best-priced and most reliable trucks on the roads today. Armed with a stylish profile shaped from aggressive lines, the Nissan cuts an impressive silhouette that its power and versatility can match.

But what sets Nissan apart from the competition? The Nissan Frontier is more than just a pretty face and backs it up with a potent V6 engine in newer models, which offers more than enough power when you need it most. Furthermore, thanks to the recent redesign, the Frontier is one of the most advanced trucks. It provides all the modern features once available only on the most expensive luxury vehicles. Along with its stylish interior and variety of trim options, the Frontier is a front-runner in the race to dominate the mid-sized truck market.

Despite all its pros, the Nissan Frontier does come with a few drawbacks. While it can tow up to 6,700 lbs, it falls behind most of the competition and is well below the threshold of a full-sized model. Furthermore, the Frontier can struggle to appeal to anyone looking for something new, as its utilitarian style and versatility don't fill any specialized niche.

Conclusion

With all the pros and cons considered, which mid-sized truck is right for you? That decision comes down to personal preference and will depend on your needs. Yet, overall, the Nissan Frontier is the best option for most people. It has a lower price point than the Ridgeline and is a Swiss Army knife of a truck that performs well regardless of the conditions.

Chevy Colorado Vs Nissan Frontier

The prevalence of mid-sized trucks is a fluctuating market, as their popularity is often considerably lower than their full-sized contemporaries. However, unless you intend on towing massive loads, a midsized truck can fulfill your needs with a lower price tag and better fuel economy. If you have been considering a new or used truck, you may have encountered the Chevy Colorado and Nissan Frontier, a pair of the highest-performing and safest trucks on the road. Now, do you find yourself stuck in a choice between the two? Here we will examine the third-generation Nissan Frontier and Chevy Colorado to determine which is worth your purchase.

Chevy Colorado Vs. Nissan Frontier Similarities

The Chevy Colorado and Nissan Frontier share a similar place in the market and, therefore, have several traits that are the same. The largest of these similarities include the following:

  • Four-Wheel Drive Option
  • Rear Wheel Drive Standard
  • Towing Capacities Over 6,000 lbs.
  • Top In-Class Offroad Performance
  • Multiple Trim Options
  • Several Generations Of Older Cars
  • New Modern Upgrades
  • Apple Car Play (On Newer Models)
  • Android Auto (On Newer Models)

Chevy Colorado Third Generation Breakdown

The Chevy Colorado and Nissan Frontier each saw an overhaul, and the Colorado moved into its third generation with the 2022-23 model year. It has seen a series of modern upgrades that bring it out of the mid-2010s and into the modern era. The current specifications of the most recent Chevy Colorado models include the following:

  • 7L Turbo engine with 237 hp (310 hp optional)
  • Diesel Option Available
  • 7,700 lbs. towing capacity

The Chevy Colorado is a versatile and multi-use truck that does not offend anyone, yet it fails to stand out beyond the basics.

Nissan Frontier Third Generation Breakdown

With a legacy as legendary as its performance, the Nissan Frontier has moved into the modern era with its 2022 refresh. While the newest Frontier generation does bring several improvements, the second generation of Frontiers is still an incredibly competent vehicle. However, the newest Frontier has the following specs:

  • 310 horsepower from 3.8-liter direct injection V6 engine
  • 19 MPG City and 24 MPG Highway
  • 6,230 to 6,720 lbs. towing capacity

Although it has a slightly lower towing capacity than competitors, the more powerful engine has better performance and offroad capabilities.

Chevy Colorado Vs. Nissan Frontier Which Is Better

The Chevy Colorado has a superior towing capacity; that is where the benefits end when compared to the Frontier. The Nissan has several improvements that the Colorado fails to achieve, most notably a massive increase in power and offroad performance. While the Colorado is well-rounded, the Frontier is just as competent while offering a more comfortable ride and potent engine. Furthermore, the Nissan Frontier has several trim levels that compete with every option Chevy has put into their premier midsized truck.

When considering a new or used truck, the Nissan Frontier is one of the best and has been an apex predator that hunts down the competition for almost three decades. Less specialized vehicles like that of the Chevy Colorado attempt to be jacks of all trades and masters of none, although when every Frontier is a similar jack of all trades and master of the road, it is an easy choice between the two.

Ford Ranger Vs Nissan Frontier

If you have been in the market for a truck, two options may have filled a large portion of your research. The Ford Ranger and Nissan Frontier are a pair of contemporary mid-sized trucks that each boast an impressive legacy of reliability and versatility in their trim options. The Ford Ranger is the elder of the two, having started production over a decade earlier, but now lags as the Nissan Frontier has had the most recent redesign. While a new Ford Ranger platform is planned for 2024, it has yet to be fully released and is playing catch up to the competition. While the Ranger and Frontier's most recent and even previous models are similar in versatility, power, size, and performance, several small factors can sway a prospective buyer in either direction. Here we will explore those minute details and variable options to determine which is more worth your time.

Average Engine Comparison

The Ranger tends toward the smaller size for most mid-sized trucks, while the Frontier has a more standard engine that can deliver power on par with the competition. This difference means there is no definitive winner in the engine department, as the Ranger will tend toward better gas mileage while the Frontier has better offroad performance. Yet, the one defining factor that may help push the Frontier ahead is that it has more consistency with the AWD and RWD models having only a slight difference in efficiency. In contrast, the AWD Ford has a comparable fuel economy with much less than its RWD option. Although, in the end, Ford and Nissan are both relatively the same with the following fuel economy on their newest models:

Nissan Frontier:

  • 18 MPG City(2x4) / 17 MPG City (4x4)
  • 24 MPG Highway(2x4) / 22 MPG (4x4)

Ford Ranger:

  • 20 MPG City(2x4) / 19 MPG City (4x4)
  • 24 MPG Highway(2x4) / 22 MPG (4x4)

For towing, the Ranger has a slight edge and can handle slightly larger loads, although the towing capacities are close and within 800 lbs of one another on most comparable models.

The Deciding Factor

The Ford Ranger and Nissan Frontier have incredibly close specifications across their size, capacities, reliability, and fuel economy. It's hard to decide which is superior. So, what is the deciding factor? The interior and technology. With its recent upgrade to tech and style, the Nissan Frontier can edge out the Ford Ranger regarding modernization. Newer Nissans come armed with the following, which is optional or outright not available on the Ranger line of vehicles:

  • Satellite Radio
  • Built-In Navigation (Optional on Ranger)
  • Keyless Ignition
  • Adaptive Cruise Control (Optional on Ranger)

The interior of the Nissan is even more attractive when you consider that despite the redesign, it keeps the user controls the same. The familiar layout leads to a more friendly user experience. Furthermore, the Nissan Frontier is all around more comfortable. With a slightly larger cab on almost all base models, the Frontier gives more leg and headroom while not compromising on the impressive and sleek aesthetic.

Overall Winner:

The Nissan Frontier is so similar to the Ranger that it is a hard race to call, and the paradigm may shift when the new Ranger's redesign is launched; but, as it stands, the Nissan has the better x factor and is all around more comfortable to drive and use. It is a versatile mid-sized truck that will perform well for towing, daily driving, and even off-road activities.

Toyota Tacoma Vs Nissan Frontier

The Nissan Frontier and Toyota Tacoma are two legendary midsized trucks that have dominated the market for over a decade. The Tacoma saw a complete redesign in 2016, bringing it into the modern era, whereas the Nissan Frontier stood on its traditional base until recently with the 2022 models. So how do they match up? Which is better now and has the superior older models? Read on to find out.

Toyota Tacoma Vs. Nissan Frontier Head To Head History

The Toyota Tacoma is a competent vehicle and has been a leader in its niche since its inception in 1994, when it didn't see a redesign until 2004, and then again in 2016. It has always boasted consistent power and reliability yet now suffers from a dated style, and newer models lack many modern features. Making its way and sticking to what works, you can't go wrong with a Tacoma of any model year, although you may find them lacking compared to their contemporaries.

Nissan shares similar roots to the Toyota Tacoma. Starting a couple of years later, in 1997 and seeing a redesign in 2005, it was hailed as one of the most modern and powerful mid-sized trucks in its class. However, it struggled to keep pace during the mid-2010s before seeing a stylish overhaul with the more recent 2022 models. While the intervening models of now-used Nissans are by no means lacking in terms of reliability, they took quite a while to move into the modern age. Yet, moving into the modern era, they did. Now boasting all the luxuries and connectivity features of other vehicles, the generation 3 Frontier is miles ahead of the somewhat dated Tacoma.

Regarding the basic packages of each vehicle, the Tacoma has long served its purpose, although recent models lag behind the competitors. While the newest generations of Tacoma come with several different trim types, which can tailor for any use, the Frontier has a slight advantage. With fewer trim options, the baseline Nissan Frontier has more to offer regarding infotainment, versatility, and reliability for any situation. Prices of each base model are relatively similar as well, although they can fluctuate for used models due to many factors. Which is better will come down to your specific needs, although if you're looking for a Swiss Army Knife kind of truck, the Frontier manages to be leagues ahead.

Warranty

Depending upon the model year that you are looking at, the warranties may vary, although current new models of the Tacoma and Frontier share the following:

  • Standard warranty: 3 years or 36,000 miles
  • Powertrain warranty: 5 years or 60,000 miles

Performance

The Tacoma and the Frontier have similar towing capacities, often within around 500 lbs depending upon the model. Although, the maximum towing with options is slightly more generous thanks to the Tacoma's marginally larger optional trim models. However, where the Tacoma can tow more, the Frontier offers more torque and a pluckier engine option, which feels better to drive even with heavy loads in the back. Efficiency can vary depending on engine type and the decision between RWD or AWD (an available option on both vehicles), meaning there isn't a decisive performance winner.

Which Is Better?

With its recent redesign, the newer Nissan Frontiers have a far greater efficiency and modern feel, while the Tacoma struggles to keep up and is a better consideration only for the oldest of models, which can come with a host of issues and lack staying power.

Nissan Leaf vs. Kia Niro

Electric vehicles have taken the roads by storm in recent years. Efficient, with longer ranges, and luxurious, the EV is the car of the future and offers a greater value than traditional gasoline-powered internal combustion engines. The Nissan Leaf and Kia Niro are two robust electric vehicles that come at a lower price point than most other EVs. But which is better? Read on for the side-by-side comparison and how the Niro stacks up to the Leaf.

Nissan Leaf vs. Kia Niro: Electric Engine And Battery Side-by-Side

While the Nissan Leaf is exclusively an electric vehicle, the Niro has a traditional hybrid and a plug-in hybrid trims available. For a fair comparison, we will explore only the EV models of the Niro, as the hybrid models have similar interior options with vastly different engines. The Leaf and Niro have almost the same battery, and each can charge from 10%-80% on quick (440v) chargers in around 40 minutes. Lower voltage (220v) chargers, like those available in homes, take roughly 11 hours for a 0-100% charge on both vehicles.

The Niro has a slight edge over the Leaf in terms of range. The more expensive Niro has a range of around 250 miles on a single charge, while the Leaf can reach 212 miles. The difference is minimal if charging stations are available on long trips or for everyday use. Additionally, the baseline Leaf has a smaller battery and range of 140 miles and is roughly $10,000 less than the only new EV trim of the Niro.

Nissan Leaf vs. Kia Niro: Quick Price Comparison

The Nissan Leaf is considerably less expensive than the Kia Niro. Both vehicles are eligible for federal tax credits, which helps mitigate the higher price of all EVs. Currently, all model year Leaf models are at least 10% less than the Niro, with the lowest-priced Nissan leaf being considerably less. This lower price makes the Leaf the perfect introductory or daily use electric vehicle.

Nissan Leaf vs. Kia Niro: Interior And Cargo

The Leaf and Niro are both compact hatchback vehicles with similar sizes and profiles. The Nissan Leaf wins out in both interior and cargo. With more features standard than the Niro, the Leaf has a tremendous value per option. Regarding cargo space, the hatchback has roughly five cu ft of room in the trunk and slightly higher headroom than the Niro.

2022 Models Leaf Niro

Overall Length 176.4 inches 172.2 inches

Height 61.4 inches 61.8 inches

Headroom, Front 41.2 inches 40.1 inches

Headroom, Rear 37.3 inches 37.7 inches

Legroom, Front 42.1 inches 41.7 inches

Legroom, Rear 33.5 inches 36.0 inches

Nissan Leaf vs. Kia Niro: Which Is Better?

Both the Nissan Leaf and Kia Niro are great electric vehicles. While the Niro has a slightly longer battery range, it is beaten out by the Leaf in almost all other comparisons. Thanks to Nissan's value and comparable options, it is the better vehicle. Still not convinced? Call or come on down to Charlie Clark Nissan and have a test drive today!

Nissan Sentra vs. Toyota Corolla

Nissan and Toyota each have a headlining compact sedan in the Sentra and Corolla, respectively. Both vehicles deliver a high level of reliability, excellent gas mileage, and an extensive suite of luxury features at a value price point. But which of these compacts is better? Which one fits what you need in a sedan? Explore with us as we take a quick examination of the newest generations of Nissan Sentra and Toyota Corolla.

Nissan Sentra VS. Toyota Corolla: Interior And Trunk Space

Starting small, the Toyota Corolla is slightly smaller than that of the Nissan Sentra. Both vehicles are close in size and legroom and can seat up to five comfortably. Newer Nissan Sentra vehicles have an arguably more exciting interior. At the same time, the luxury options on the Corolla are standard, lending to the Toyota's higher price point. Almost all options on the Toyota are available on the Sentra and are standard on the higher-end trims. The most considerable difference between the pair is in terms of trunk space. The Nissan Sentra wins out here, allowing for significantly more cargo and a spacious back seat.

Nissan Sentra VS. Toyota Corolla: Engine And Performance

While the standard Sentra only has a single engine type on all trims, the Corolla has three different options available and a hybrid model. The Corolla has several options, although the engines are similar across all models. Here we will examine the baseline models of each. The Corolla takes a slight edge in its engine and gas mileage. The Nissan Sentra has a 2.0-liter Direct Injection Gasoline™ (DIG) DOHC 16-valve 4-cylinder engine, rated at 149 hp @ 6,000 rpm. The EPA estimated city mileage is 29 MPG and 39 MPG on highways. In comparison, the baseline Toyota Corolla has a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder, 169 hp @ 6600 rpm engine. EPA mileage for the Corolla is 32 MPG city and 41 MPG highway.

Nissan Sentra VS. Toyota Corolla: Final Value Comparison

The similarities between the Sentra and Corolla carry over into the price of each vehicle. As of the time of writing, new Nissan Sentra vehicles are almost 10% cheaper than most new Corollas. Despite the lower price, the Sentra does not lose out on features and safety options, lending to its higher value per dollar on new and preowned models.

Nissan Sentra VS. Toyota Corolla: Which Is Better

The Nissan Sentra and Toyota Corolla are both high-performing and well-priced compact sedans. They have equal seating along with a similar level of performance. But which is better? Ultimately it is a close race to call. However, we at Charlie Clark think the Nissan Sentra will win out over the Toyota Corolla. The Sentra, with its more luxurious interior, massive cargo space, and comparable engine, sets a new standard for compact sedans. Still, want to find out for yourself? Call, go online, or come on in to schedule a test drive of a new or pre-owned Nissan Sentra today. Find your next car at Charlie Clark Nissan, El Paso.

Nissan Rogue vs. Ford Edge

Nissan Rogue vs. Ford Edge: Engine Performance, Mileage, And Power.

Due to the nature of the Rogue's more petite frame and slighter profile as a crossover, it is noticeably smaller than the Edge, and that theme carries over to the engine. However, it is not a significant difference until examining the gas mileage capacities. The engines and performance comparisons are as follows: Nissan Rogue

  • Intercooled Turbo Regular Unleaded I-3
  • 5 Liter
  • 201 Horsepower @ 5600 RPM
  • Turbocharged: Standard
  • EPA City Mileage: 30
  • EPA Highway Mileage: 37
  • Trailer Towing Capacity: 1500lbs

Ford Edge

  • Intercooled Turbo Regular Unleaded I-3
  • 0 Liter
  • 250 Horsepower @ 5500 RPM
  • Turbocharged: Optional
  • EPA City Mileage: (2023 Unreleased) 21 (2022)
  • EPA Highway Mileage: (2023 Unreleased) 28 (2022)
  • Trailer Towing Capacity: 1500

With similar towing capacity and vastly superior gas mileage, the Nissan Rogue is the better city and multipurpose vehicle. However, it does lack all-wheel drive, a feature that is standard on the Ford Edge.

Nissan Rogue vs. Ford Edge: Looking At Interiors And Cargo Space

When it comes to the design of the interior, the Nissan Rogue is more slick and luxurious than the uninspired and uncontroversial designs of the Ford Edge. Each of the SUVs can seat up to five passengers comfortably. In terms of legroom and headroom in the front seat, the Rogue and Edge are roughly equal. The Edge has slightly larger headroom and shoulder room in both rows, while the back seat is a few inches larger than the Rogue. Surprisingly, the smaller Nissan Rogue has a considerably larger space for cargo, and its lay-flat back seats allow owners to expand their storage.

Nissan Rogue vs. Ford Edge: Price And Options

In terms of price, the Nissan Rogue is the far better deal. Newer models of the Rogue start at $27,360 MSRP, and the Edge starts at $37,945 MSRP. This difference comes down to the AWD capabilities and larger size of the Edge. The Nissan Rogue is the more economical and environmentally friendly option.

Nissan Rogue vs. Ford Edge: Winner?

While each is a different style of vehicle with a diverse set of distinct traits from one another, the Ford Edge is just beaten out by the Nissan Rogue. It is only slightly smaller than its midsized competitor but has superb value, range, gas mileage, and similar performance. Don't believe us, or are you suspicious of our bias? Come and test drive a new or pre-owned Nissan Rogue at Charlie Clark Nissan today!

Why the Nissan Leaf Is One of the BEST EV cars you can buy

New electric vehicles have grown in popularity and represent a vision of the future independent from gas-powered internal combustion engines. The Nissan Leaf is one of the market's lowest-priced and most reliable EVs, which battles on equal footing with supposed luxury sedans. How can the Leaf keep its value and still compete with higher-priced EVs? Check out what sets the Leaf apart from the competition.

Incredible Reliability And Functionality

Thanks to several consumer report surveys, the newest 2023 Nissan Leaf is currently rated in the top three most reliable electric vehicles. The 214 hp engine has smooth acceleration and performs well in most road conditions. Current ranges of the latest generation 60 kWh battery are upwards of 212 miles on a full charge. The baseline model has a 122-mile range on a 40 kWh battery with a smaller 147 horsepower engine. All new Nissan Leaf EVs come equipped with the NISSAN CONNECT EV capability, which allows owners to check the charge on their vehicle and plan charging times from a smartphone app. Whether you are searching for a daily driver which can handle long road trips or a low-priced starter EV, the Leaf has a trim available to fit your needs. Thanks to improvements in power delivery systems, owners can charge the Leaf from 10%-80% in roughly forty minutes.

Amazing Affordability

The Nissan Leaf is currently the lowest-priced compact hatchback currently on the market. Baseline models are priced at $28,040 MSRP, with the more powerful Plus trim at $36,040. This price is considerably less than the base Kia Niro and Chevy Bolt, and the Leaf offers much more per value than the $46,000 Tesla Model 3. Additionally, the Nissan Leaf is still available for a federal tax credit rebate, thus lowering the cost by up to $10,000, depending upon approval.

Comfortable Interior And Technology, Standard

Inside the Nissan Leaf is luxurious but contemporary. The interior is understandably plastic and cloth, thus lowering the price. However, each panel has been designed with a purpose, allowing for a sleek, albeit traditional, interior. Space is decent inside the Leaf, which can seat up to five adults in relative comfort. Cargo space in the trunk measures out at 23.6 cu ft and 30 cu ft when folding down the 60/40 back row. Some of the features of the new Nissan Leaf infotainment and interior are as follows:

  • 8-inch touch screen
  • Apple CarPlay
  • Android Auto
  • satellite radio
  • Bluetooth
  • up to four USB ports
  • up to a six-speaker stereo system
  • keyless entry
  • push to start
  • much more

Should You Consider The Nissan Leaf?

The Nissan Leaf is objectively one of the best electric vehicles on the market. While it has a slightly shorter range than most other EVs, the Leaf wins on average in all other concerns. Comfortable, luxurious, and fully equipped, the Leaf has it all. Want to try one for yourself? Call or come down to Charlie Clark Nissan to schedule a test drive.

Learn More About The Inflation Reduction Act EV Tax Credit That Can Save You Up to $7500

As of August 16, 2022, the United States signed the Inflation Reduction Act into law, which expanded the tax credit benefits for new electric vehicle owners in the US. Currently, you could save up to $7500 on a new and eligible EV, like the Nissan Leaf. What could this mean for you? How do you ensure the entire $7500? Read on to learn the essential benefits of the Inflation Reduction Act and how it could affect your future car-buying decisions.

What Is The Inflation Reduction Act of 2022?

The senate summary on the Inflation Reduction Act state that it is intended to "fight inflation, invest in domestic energy production and manufacturing, and reduce carbon emissions by roughly 40 percent by 2030." The act does this by investing $300 billion in Deficit Reduction and $369 billion in Energy Security and Climate Change programs over the next ten years.

How Do You Get The Electric Vehicle Credit, And Is It Available For Preowned Vehicles?

The IRS has broken the $7500 tax credit into two equal $3750 chunks, which you can receive one or both when purchasing a new vehicle. For new vehicles to receive even one of the credits, they must meet the following criteria in addition to manufacturing requirements for each half:

  • Maximum MSRP of $80,000 for SUVs and pickup trucks
  • Maximum MSRP of $55,000 for all non-SUVs and pickup trucks
  • Income Cap (Maximum taxable income of purchasers)
    • $150,000 for single filers
    • $225,000 for the head of household filers
    • $300,000 for joint filers
  • Purchased after January 1, 2023.

Additionally, new electric vehicles must have at least 40% of battery components made within the US, or free trade nations, to meet the minimum for the first $3750. For the second half, another majority of materials must come from the US and be used in the final construction of the vehicle to be eligible for the $3750 credit. What About Preowned Vehicles? Used electric vehicles are subject to the Inflation Reduction act as well. While pre-owned vehicles do not have special component restrictions, used sales are also subject to different strict requirements. To receive 30% of the sale value, up to $4000, purchasers must meet the following:

  • Vehicle must be at least two years old as of the time of purchase
  • Sold by a licensed dealer (No private vehicle sales)
  • Under $25000 purchase price
  • Income Cap (Maximum taxable income of purchasers)
    • $75,000 for single filers
    • $112,000 for the head of household filers
    • $150,000 for joint filers

When Does This Credit Take Effect?

All qualifying vehicles purchased after January 1, 2023, will be available for the tax credit for the year, with provisions allowed for the next ten years. If you bought a vehicle before January 1, 2023, it is held under the previous tax credit rules and thus are subject to purchasing caps of 200,000 vehicles per manufacturer. You can check Qualifying Vehicles on the department of energy website or by checking manufacturing specifications on new cars.

NOTED: The IRA EV Credit is continually adjusting. Please check with our team for the latest.

EV vs Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) Car

Electric Vehicles (EVs) represent a radical shift in the personal vehicle market and could replace the Internal Combustion Engine as the car replaced the horse. However, owning an EV does come with some setbacks, as with any new technology, and has yet to be fully adopted or adapted to all forms of use that gasoline-powered vehicles can provide. What are the pros and cons of each vehicle type?

Energy Efficiency And Emissions

Thanks to their nature of being battery-powered, the EV comes far ahead of traditional vehicles as the lack of internal combustion allows for a more energy-efficient ride. Most ICE cars lose a significant amount of energy through head loss by the nature of the controlled explosion which drives the engine. Regenerative braking and smart E-pedals on newer EVs allow energy to be rerouted to the battery from the heat produced when slowing. Additionally, while EVs may be charged and powered via coal or natural gas plants that service public charging terminals, the emissions from electricity generated by power plants are up to 60% less per vehicle. Owners can increase their emission efficiency by using solar or wind-powered systems at home, although such things come with a high setup cost.

Cost And Lifetime Value

First and foremost, Electric Vehicles often come at a higher initial price than gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles. Due to the nature of EVs being a pioneering technology, their upfront costs can be upwards of 10% more than traditional counterparts. However, this cost does not translate after ownership, as electricity and maintenance per mile are significantly less than purchasing gasoline. Due to the relatively simplistic nature and fewer moving parts of EVs, their maintenance costs can be substantially less than an Internal Combustion Engine. Likewise, new and preowned EVs purchased in the United States have an incredible incentive in the form of a government tax credit, which can save buyers up to $7000.

Range Comparison

Regarding range, it is hard to disprove that Internal Combustion Engines have the edge due to the larger potential gas tank range than batteries and the prevalence of gas stations around the nation. Most EVs would require a thorough plan to ensure power charging stations are available along road trip routes. Furthermore, depending on the year of the Electric Vehicle and power station model, it can take anywhere from 40 minutes to several hours to charge an EV, vastly diminishing the daily driving range of the vehicles.

Driving Comparison

Due to the nature of their battery-powered engine, EVs do not need time to reach maximum torque and thus can get up to 60 mph faster than most ICE cars. Excluding high-performance vehicles, the EV will feel quicker behind the wheel. However, at higher velocities, ICE cars can often reach higher top speeds than their electric competitors.

Which Is Better?

Ultimately the choice of EV vs. ICE is a close race, with both engine types providing similar overall functions. Yet, due to the growth and advancements in EV technology, it is safe to say that battery-powered vehicles may one day fully replace gasoline engines in most cases.

Nissan Versa Vs. Kia Rio

If you’re in the market for a subcompact sedan, the Nissan Versa and the Kia Rio are likely at the top of your list. While both of these models are good options, the team at Charlie Clark Nissan of El Paso prefers the Nissan Versa. In this blog, we’ll show you why we’re biased regarding comparing the Nissan Versa vs. Kia Rio.

If You’re Looking for a Manual Transmission, Nissan Versa is For You If you’re a big fan of manual transmissions, you’ll love that the new Nissan Versa offers this option. The Kia Rio is not available with a manual transmission which will likely sway some toward the versatile Versa!

Affordable Starting Price Point for the Nissan Versa When comparing the Nissan Versa vs. Kia Rio, the price will likely be looked at rather carefully. If you’re a budget-conscious car shopper, you’ll be pleased to know that the Nissan Versa’s baseline model is less expensive than a comparable Kia Rio. If you’d like to upgrade to a higher trim level, such as the SV or SR, you’ll pay a bit more, but you’ll get a slew of technology upgrades that you and your passengers will welcome! SV and SR Packages Offer Incredible Value for New Nissan Versa Shoppers If you’re looking for the absolute least expensive Nissan Versa, you’ll likely want the S trim level, but if you’re looking for the best bang for your buck, we’d recommend either the SV or SR packages. While you pay a small amount more for either of these trim levels, you’ll get many upgrades. Both higher-end models feature an upgraded six-speaker audio system, additional driver assistance features, and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The SR model adds heated front seats, automatic climate control, and adaptive cruise control.

Nissan Puts Safety First with the Nissan Versa Nissan has long focused on consumer safety in all of its automobiles. This is no different from the latest Nissan Versa. This shows due to the Versa's highly sought-after 5-star NHTSA overall safety rating. The Kia Rio didn’t receive this safety rating which should be another vote towards the Versa in this closely fought battle of the Nissan Versa vs. Kia Rio. Head Down to Charlie Clark

Nissan Sentra vs. Honda Civic

The compact vehicle segment is highly competitive, with the Nissan Sentra and the Honda Civic often at the top of the list regarding awards and accolades. If you’re currently in the market for a new compact vehicle, we thought it would be a good idea to showcase both of these vehicles to help you choose which is best for you. Suppose you’re interested in test-driving the Nissan Sentra in particular. In that case, you can always head down to our Charlie Clark Nissan El Paso dealership to help you decide when it comes to the battle of Nissan Sentra vs. Honda Civic!

Interior Ascents Abound in the New Nissan Sentra When it comes to the interior of the battle between the Nissan Sentra and the Honda Civic, the Sentra comes out ahead in several different ways. Nissan has invested in updating the interiors of many of its models, including the Sentra. You’ll enjoy nicely appointed faux carbon fiber accents and a well-thought-out instrument panel with a touchscreen and other dials and buttons that put everything you need right at your fingertips. Additionally, upgraded upholstery makes the interior of the Sentra look a bit more luxurious than its consumer-friendly price tag.

Technology is a Clear Winner for the Nissan Sentra over the Civic Nissan put quite a bit of thought into the touchscreen on the new Nissan Sentra. Rather than use a completely digital touchscreen, Nissan opted for a combination touchscreen with gauges and buttons that make for a more user-friendly experience. The Sentra’s touchscreen is 8-inches compared to the Civic’s 9-inch screen, but it offers a brighter display that seems clearer and easier to read. Both vehicles offer the latest connectivity and premium options if you’re looking to jam out in your new ride! Nissan Sentra Smokes the Competition When it Comes to Exterior Appearance Nissan has updated the exterior of the Sentra in the past few years to make it much sportier. This is due to sleek LED headlights and an updated grille that creates a “meaner” look than Sentra’s of years past. If you upgrade to the SR trim, you’ll enjoy a blacked-out roof, wheels, mirrors, and trim that make the Sentra shine compared to the more “bashful” Civic!

The Price is Right for the Sentra in this Showdown with the Civic While price is not everything, it’s hard to overlook the much lower price tag of the Nissan Sentra compared to the Civic. Sentra's lowest trim comes in around 15% cheaper than a comparable Civic. This is a big difference and why more and more consumers in El Paso and the surrounding areas are choosing the Nissan Sentra for their new ride! Head Down to

Charlie Clark Nissan El Paso to See the New Nissan Sentra in Person!  For the final verdict in the Nissan Sentra vs. Honda Civic battle, head down to Charlie Clark Nissan in El Paso to test drive an all-new Sentra. We have plenty of models in stock for you to choose from, and we’re confident you’ll love the New Nissan Sentra so much that you’ll head off the lot in a brand-new ride! Nissan Titan Vs. Ford F150

The truck market is always very competitive, but people mistakenly believe that they must pick from Ford, Chevy, or RAM to get a great truck, and that is not true. Manufacturers like Nissan are doing some impressive stuff. Specifically, the TITAN is ready to get the job done for you. The Nissan Titan pickup truck is an excellent choice for drivers looking to get a little bit more out of their drives around the job site or their next weekend camping trip. However, the Nissan Titan isn't the only capable pickup truck in its class, especially when you compare it to the Ford F-150. How do these two trucks stack up against each other?

Performance

When determining which of these two pickup trucks is a better choice for your future drives, knowing how they can handle challenging roads is essential. On the base-level trim, the Nissan Titan outperforms the Ford F-150, boasting 400 HP compared to the Ford F-150’s 290 HP. Beyond coming standardly equipped with more horsepower under the hood, the Nissan Titan has been reported to have a smoother shifting transmission compared to the Ford F-150. That puts you behind the wheel of a wild beast. You get a 7-speed automatic transmission, and you can choose the turbodiesel V8 engine if you're looking for a little more power in your truck. Considering that the Nissan Titan has a tow rating of 12,000 pounds, you can haul a heavy payload without too much drama.

Contrast this with the Ford F-150; you have a couple of different engines depending on the trim level. If you choose the Lariat, you get a 2.7-liter engine, but this doesn't seem to pack much punch. Upgrading to the 3.5-liter V6, this truck produces up to 375 horsepower. Even at the second trim level, it doesn't compare to the Titan.

Source: Nissan and Ford Media

Exterior

What do we have when we look at the exterior? The exterior of the Nissan Titan looks impressive and imposing on the road. The exterior of this truck looks attractive and uses lines and angles that give this truck an attractive appearance. If you choose the Midnight Edition of the Nissan Titan, you get a blacked-out grille. Otherwise, you get the chrome version. You can also choose between a couple of different cabs. For example, you have the crew cab version, which has an SUV-like feel with four doors, and you can choose the extended cab. While an extended cab has a 6.5-foot body, the crew cab has a 5.5-foot bed. As one of the most popular truck models for the company, the F-150 has an attractive tailgate. However, it doesn't command your attention as much as the Nissan Titan does.

Interior space

The Nissan Titan will give you plenty of room for the whole family. You can fit up to six passengers inside this truck and get optional front bucket seats. Remember, if you choose the standard cab, you won't have room behind the front bench. When we compare the F-150's interior to the Titan, the F-150 receives high marks in this area. You have the advantage of everyday ease of use, but you also get seats that provide appropriate support. The significant controls inside have received the correct labeling.

The Nissan Titan provides you with a better deal. If you’re interested in learning about this truck, contact the Nissan experts at Charlie Clark Nissan in El Paso, TX. Sales representatives, who would love to show you what makes the Nissan Titan superior in every way, are standing by. This is a truck that is worth the money!

Nissan kicks vs. Kia Soul

Nissan and Kia make reliable vehicles that have served people well over the years. They are easy on the pocket and not that hard to maintain too. This makes these brands very popular amongst the commoner. Their offerings in the subcompact car market have always been popular but across a dilemma. When buying a car, many people will come across the Nissan Kicks vs. Kia Soul argument. One needs to look on a model-by-model basis and see which option would be the best for them.

Safety Features

No family SUV would be complete without several standard safety features. The Kicks has automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, high-beam assistance, and automatic rear braking. You can also take advantage of a rearview monitor, lane-departure warning, and rear cross-traffic alert. You'll have to pay extra if you want a Soul featuring lane-departure assistance, rear cross-traffic monitoring, and collision avoidance assistance. While the Kicks and Soul will let you know when your tires aren't safe to drive on, only the Kicks' tire pressure monitor keeps track of tire inflation, ensuring that you don't overinflate the tires.

Handling

With the Kicks, you can take advantage of speed-sensitive variable-assist power steering that makes it easier to park, gives you more control when driving at highway speeds, and delivers an excellent road feel. Unfortunately, the Soul does not offer variable-assist power steering. The Soul's 34.8-foot turning diameter is larger than the Kicks' 34.1-foot turning diameter, making the Soul more challenging to maneuver.

Engine

The Nissan Kicks might be limited to a single engine, but it does the job. It has a better mileage rating than the Soul and has active safety features. Emergency braking, blind-spot warning, lane departure warning, and rear cross-traffic alert are standard on the Kicks. To get the same features on the Kia Soul, you will have to shell out at least $3k more than the base price.

Interior

Both the Kicks and Soul maximize utility with foldable seating, armrest storage, and five-passenger capacities. At the same time, both have an impressive cargo volume; the Kicks inches slightly past the Soul in legroom and headroom. Though the differences are slight, they all add up, making the Kicks a more comfortable ride for its additional space. The Soul features a sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, wireless smartphone charging on certain trims, and a roomy cabin. The Kicks also feature automatic climate control, heated mirrors, and a steering wheel on higher trims.

Cargo Space

While the Kicks and the Soul seat five people, the Nissan gives you more cargo space. The Kicks' cargo hold measures 25.3 cubic feet compared to the Soul's 24.2-cubic-foot cargo hold. As you can see, the 2022 Nissan Kicks gives you so much more than the 2022 Kia Soul. Test drive the Kicks today.

Technology

The 2022 Nissan Kicks has two-row seating and tons of tech features to keep everyone entertained and connected while on the road. You can use the large, user-friendly 8-inch touch-screen display that boasts Apple CarPlay® Integration. Access your favorite apps, play your saved music playlist, and perform myriad other functions with ultimate ease.

2022 Nissan Kicks vs. 2022 Kia Soul: Which is better?

Both vehicles are a good choice for anyone searching for a budget-friendly subcompact SUV. However, the Kicks outshines the Soul regarding safety, price, fuel economy, and cargo space. The Kicks is among U.S. News & World Report’s safest vehicles, with a 9.4/10 rating. The Soul, while reliable, has a lower safety rating of 8.8/10. On top of this, the Kicks is roomier head-to-toe. So, whether you need it for a daily commute or weekend road trips, the ride will be much more comfortable. Lastly, the Kicks beats out the Soul in fuel economy by six additional MPG city and five extra MPG highway. Even with the turbocharged engine on upgraded Soul trims, the Kicks still beats it out with an additional 4 MPG both city and highway. For these reasons, we’d vote that the better buy is the 2022 Nissan Kicks.

Nissan Leaf vs. Hyundai Ioniq

The automotive future has arrived with the new wave of electric vehicles for sale. Popular electric vehicle (EV) models like the Nissan Leaf deliver instant power, zero emissions, and a low ownership cost, making them a smart choice for the savvy car shopper. Comparing the Leaf to the competition, we’ll see how the Hyundai Ioniq stacks up against Nissan's popular EV. Driving Range The Nissan Leaf is one of the longest-running EVs on the road, offering an affordable and practical option for people wanting to drive a zero-emission vehicle. It was quietly strutting its kilowatts on the streets before any Tesla rolled out of the factory and showed an interest in EVs even though it sported a strange look and a short driving range. The current second-generation Leaf matured with more traditional styling and a more extended driving range. Engine Power Performance was not something most people looked in the EV segment for in its early years, but today’s EVs make great use of their instantly available torque and energy-dense batteries. Powering the Nissan Leaf is a 110 kW AC synchronous electric motor that provides up to 147 HP. The Hyundai Ioniq isn’t as potent as the Leaf, as it's electric motor cranks out 118 HP with an interior-permanent magnet synchronous motor. Both feature a single-speed transmission with front-wheel drive. Enjoy faster acceleration with the Leaf and 236 lb. ft of torque compared to 218 lb. ft of torque for the Ioniq. With just a bit of power, the Leaf wins on performance. A locking/limited slip differential is also standard on the Leaf while not available on the Ioniq.

Source: Nissan and Hyundai Media

Safety The Leaf and the Ioniq come equipped with conventional active and passive safety features such as traction control, four-wheel anti-lock brakes, and driver and passenger airbags. Look deeper, though, and you'll find that the 2020 Nissan LEAF holds the advantage in advanced safety features and driver-assistive technologies. For instance, Nissan's ProPILOT Assist with semi-autonomous driving capabilities and an Intelligent Around View Monitor are available and help drivers stay alert and focused yet relaxed at the wheel. Modern Comfort When it comes to interior comfort, the difference is in the details. For example, the Leaf offers carpeted floor mats while none are available with the Ioniq. More headroom means more room to move, and the Leaf wins again with 41.2 inches, whereas the Ioniq is just a little short with 39.1 inches. Both models include a stereo system, with the Leaf offering a CD player and MP3 player for additional entertainment options. Design Both the Leaf and Ioniq are concerned about function in the design of the models. They include available heated mirrors and intermittent windshield washers. As a bonus, the Leaf has rear windshield wipers as standard, while this feature isn’t available on the Hyundai model. Bring along more stuff because the Leaf offers more cargo space. Visit Charlie Clark Nissan of El Paso to Finance the New Leaf Now that you've learned how the new Leaf surpasses the Ioniq in many ways, why not schedule a test drive? Nissan Altima vs. Hyundai Sonata

Nissan has added another mid-size sedan to its 2022 lineup of cars – the 2022 Nissan Altima. A reliable vehicle like the Nissan Altima or the Hyundai Sonata offers something for all drivers. Both these midsize sedans are designed to provide a smooth, comfortable ride. This new sedan from Nissan features the world’s first available variable compression turbo engine to deliver power and efficiency on demand. It has a spacious trunk and an open interior that is comfortable and convenient. Are you intrigued to know how well the 2022 Nissan Altima performs when it is stacked against one of its competitors in the market? Performance and Capability The Nissan Altima offers a couple of sporty engines. First, a 2.5L 4-cylinder powertrain gets up to 188 horsepower. If you'd like a little more power under the hood, a turbocharged 2.0L 4-cylinder engine offers up to 248 horsepower. Both engines work with a quick-shifting Xtronic® continuously variable transmission. While this helps you enjoy a smooth ride, intelligent all-wheel drive is available to provide extra traction and stability. The Hyundai Sonata doesn't offer all-wheel drive. However, it does give you a choice between two engines. Unfortunately, they aren't quite as powerful. Its 1.6L 4-cylinder engine only gets up to 180 horsepower, while its 2.5L 4-cylinder powertrain delivers just 191 horsepower.

Source: Nissan and Hyundai Media

Safety Features The Nissan Altima also offers peace of mind with an intelligent design and driver-assistance features. It starts with front and rear crumple zones that can absorb energy during a collision. Inside, you'll be protected by ten airbags, including front and rear side-impact and roof-mounted side curtain airbags. Meanwhile, Nissan Safety Shield 360® can help prevent accidents. It gives you more awareness during your drive with intelligent technology, such as:

  • automatic braking safety
  • automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection
  • rear automatic braking
  • rear cross-traffic alert
  • blind spot warning
  • lane departure warning

The Hyundai Sonata comes with some similar driver-assistance features. It does leave the interior a little more exposed, however. It wasn't designed with energy-absorbing crumple zones and only came with seven airbags. Infotainment System Both the Nissan Altima and the Hyundai Sonata come with an 8-inch touchscreen. Each system offers lots of smartphone compatibility, too. For example, you can connect your apps and use them while you drive with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto. You'll also be able to make hands-free calls and stream music with Bluetooth®. Nissan builds on these Bluetooth capabilities by including a SiriusXM radio and a hands-free text messaging assistant. You'll have lots of music at your fingertips and be able to reply to messages without taking your eyes off the road. While the Hyundai Sonata also comes with Bluetooth, it doesn't feature a text-messaging assistant. SiriusXM radio is available, but it's not offered on every trim level. Bottom Line on the Battle Between The Nissan Altima and Hyundai Sonata If you are looking for a practical, fuel-efficient midsize sedan that won't break the bank, the Nissan Altima should be at the top of your list. Nissan offers a highly efficient powertrain with impressive fuel economy, remote engine start, and AWD; all features Hyundai does not provide on the Sonata. Nissan Sentra vs. Kia Forte

There are many great cars on the market right now that shoppers will have to choose from, and two examples are the 2022 Kia Forte and the 2022 Nissan Sentra. These two compact sedans have a lot in common so some folks might have some issues choosing between the two. Engine The Sentra’s 2.0 DOHC 4-cylinder produces two more horsepower (149 vs. 147) and 14 lbs.-ft. More torque (146 vs. 132) than Forte’s standard 2.0 DOHC 4-cylinder. As tested in Motor Trend, the Nissan Sentra is faster than the Kia Forte 4-cylinder (automatic transmission tested): .7 seconds faster in the 0-60 test, .5 seconds faster in the 1/4 mile, and 2.4 MPH more quickly in the 1/4 mile. Environmental Friendliness In its Green Vehicle Guide, the EPA rated the Nissan Sentra higher (7 out of 10) than the Kia Forte (5 to 7). This means the Sentra produces up to 8 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the Forte every 15,000 miles.

Source: Nissan and kia Media

Suspension and Handling The Nissan Sentra has fully independent front and rear suspensions for superior ride and handling. An independent suspension allows the wheels to follow the road at the best angle for gripping the pavement without compromising ride comfort. The Forte has a rear torsion beam axle with a semi-independent rear suspension. For better handling and stability, the average track (width between the wheels) on the Sentra is 1.1 inches wider in the front and .6 inches wider in the rear than the average track on the Forte. The Sentra SR handles at .89 G’s, while the Forte pulls only .81 Gs of cornering force in a Motor Trend skid pad test. The Sentra SR executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver quicker than the Forte (27 seconds @ .63 average Gs vs. 27.7 seconds @ .61 average Gs). Ergonomics The Sentra driver’s power window opens or closes with one touch of the window control, making it more convenient at drive-up windows and toll booths. The Forte’s standard driver’s power window switch must be held the entire time to close it entirely. The Sentra’s speed-sensitive wipers speed up when the vehicle does, so the driver doesn’t have to adjust the wipers' speed continually. The Forte’s manually variable intermittent wipers must be constantly changed. On frigid winter days, the Sentra SV/SR’s optional heated steering wheel provides comfort, allowing the driver to steer safely and comfortably before the car heater warms up. The Forte doesn’t offer a heated steering wheel. Reliability To reliably power the ignition and other systems and to recharge the battery, the Sentra has a standard 150-amp alternator. The Forte’s standard 120-amp alternator and largest (GT) 130-amp alternator aren’t as powerful. A reliable vehicle saves its owner time, money, and trouble. Nobody wants to be stranded or without a car while it’s being repaired. Consumer Reports rates Sentra’s reliability 38 points higher than the Forte. J.D. Power and Associates 2021 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed and provided the statistics that show that Nissan vehicles are better in initial quality than Kia vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Nissan fifth in initial quality, above the industry average. With one more problem per 100 vehicles, Kia is ranked 6th. From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ January 2021 Auto Issue reports that Nissan vehicles are more reliable than Kia vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Nissan 2 places higher in reliability than Kia. Nissan Versa Vs. Toyota Corolla

Car shoppers near El Paso and in the market for a new sedan should be introduced to the reliable and stylish 2022 Nissan Versa and the Toyota Corolla. You may ask yourself, “What are the differences between the Versa and Corolla?” The team at Charlie Clark Nissan is here to give you the inside scoop on what both the Nissan and the Toyota bring to the table.

Engine Performance

Both vehicles use a four-cylinder engine and offer a manual transmission or a CVT to send power to the front wheels only. With agile handling, impressive efficiency, and plenty of power to play with, Versa is ready to bring it to the streets. Versa handling makes every ride memorable thanks to a stiff rear suspension, rigid chassis, and responsive steering.

Fuel Economy

You’ll save money in another way with the Nissan Versa: in fuel economy. Thanks to its continuously variable transmission (CVT), the Versa gets a combined 35 miles to the gallon, averaging 40 highway miles per gallon. Get used to flying by gas stations. Meanwhile, the Toyota Corolla sedan gets a combined rating of only 32 miles to the gallon, getting 36 highway mpg, which is impressive but not quite as good.

Source: Nissan and Toyota Media

Environmentally Friendly

In addition to its superior fuel economy, the 2022 Nissan Versa is rated as healthier for the environment than the Toyota Corolla. The EPA rates the Versa 7 out of 10 in its Green Vehicle Guide. The Corolla, on the other hand, merely scores a 5. This means the Versa pumps out up to 8 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the Corolla every 15,000 miles. This environmental consciousness gets the Nissan Versa the designation of a Super-Ultra-Low Emissions Vehicle (SULEV) from the EPA. The Toyota Corolla, for its part, is classified as an Ultra-Low Emissions Vehicle (ULEV).

Interior Space

The Corolla is only a few inches longer than the Versa, but the Nissan makes up for it by being slightly taller. Interior space gets traded between both depending on the specific area we’re talking about. The Corolla has more room in its second row, while the Versa is more spacious up front and in the trunk… where it counts!

It shouldn’t have turned out this way, considering the Versa is a subcompact sedan, and the Corolla is a compact. But the smaller car has a bigger trunk. That’s right; the Nissan Versa sports a trunk that measures 14.7 or 15 cubic feet of storage space, dependent on the trim level. On the other hand, the Toyota Corolla sedan’s trunk is only 13 cubic feet.

The Versa's smooth ride and cushy front seats make it a relaxing chariot for daily commutes, and it's available with more driver assists than its classmates. There’s nothing to complain about with the Versa’s seats. They’re reasonably comfortable and supportive, and adults can ride in either row without feeling squeezed. There’s nothing to complain about with the Versa’s seats. They’re reasonably comfortable and supportive, and adults can ride in either row without feeling squeezed.

Pricing

Not only is the Nissan handsome, but it also has a price tag that's affordable for almost everyone. The 2022 Nissan Versa starts at just $15,580; no matter how you choose, it won’t crest far above $20,000. The 2022 Toyota Corolla starts at $20,425 and can jump to well beyond $25,000, depending on trim and options.

Test Drive a Versa Today!

Feel free to check out the new 2022 Nissan Versa today at Charlie Clark Nissan in El Paso, TX. Our friendly sales team is ready to assist you and will also explain our available financing options when you're ready to own a new car today!

What’s New for the 2023 Nissan LEAF EV Vehicle

For over ten years now, Nissan’s LEAF EV has been at the forefront of Nissan’s green revolution. A decade ago, the company made a commitment to bring the best in all-electric vehicles to the people of the US looking to move away from gasoline-powered transport. The company has recently announced that the 2023 iteration of the Nissan LEAF EV vehicle will be the most exciting version of the LEAF yet.

Nissan has Listened to Their Customers, and Are Providing Exactly What Their Customers Want

The 2023 version of the Nissan LEAF EV will be available in two main trims – the standard LEAF S and the slightly more advanced LEAF SV PLUS. A whole host of customer-requested additions have been added to each, including advanced tech. Despite all these additions and positive changes, both new trims of the LEAF EV will be available at affordable prices. For information, the MRSP of the 2022 LEAF was $27,400, and for the 2022 LEAF SV the MSRP was $35,400.

The main updates for the 2023 version of the LEAF are as follows:

  • Enhanced front end appearance
  • Refreshed front grille
  • New bumper molding
  • New black inner finisher for headlights
  • Illuminated Nissan badge (updated to reflect new brand identity)
  • Modified tire deflectors
  • Modified rear under diffuser
  • Modified real spoiler
  • Five-spoke, 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels (SV PLUS only)

The standard, 2023 LEAF S comes equipped with a 40kWh lithium-ion battery and 110kW motor. The motor will deliver 147 hp and 236 lb-ft of torque. The advanced LEAF SV PLUS comes with a 60kWh lithium-ion battery and a 160kW motor. This combination will successfully deliver 214 hp and 250 lb-ft which, for any electric vehicle, is stunningly powerful. The EPA range estimates for both models of the 2023 LEAF will be released close to the date that this iteration of the Nissan LEAF is launched, but they are thought to be very similar to the estimates for the 2022 iteration of the LEAF. These estimates are 149 miles for the S trim, and 215 miles for the SV PLUS trim.

Both models will come equipped with an impressive range of additional technologies and driver assist features. For the SV PLUS, this means that the ProPILOT Assist is standard. ProPILOT Assist is a hands-on driver assist system that works to combine Nissan’s steering assist technologies and Intelligent Cruise Control. This is capable of automatically bringing your Nissan to a full stop in traffic (not only in emergencies), holding in position and then moving off again automatically when the traffic starts to move again without any intervention from the driver. It has not been revealed if this technology will be available as an optional upgrade for the LEAF S.

The 2023 Iteration of the Nissan LEAF Comes with a Number of Reassuring Warranties

Both the Nissan LEAF S and the LEAF SV PLUS come complete with a limited lithium-ion battery warranty. This will cover defects in workmanship or materials for the battery pack for 100,000 miles or for eight years, whichever comes first. A limited warranty against battery capacity will also be available, covering capacity loss below nine bars (out of ten) as displayed on the LEAF’s capacity level gauge. This warranty is also in place for 100,000 miles or for eight years, whichever comes first.

An availability date for the 2023 LEAF S and the LEAF SV PLUS has not yet been released. The new versions of both vehicles made their debut at the 2022 New York International Auto Show in April 2022 and will be available for purchase at some time during summer 2022.

For the 2023 Nissan LEAF, when available, contact Charlie Clark Nissan El Paso at (915) 226-0702, or online here.

Reasons Why You Should Service Your Nissan at a Factory Approved Dealership

There’s a saying that can be applied to most purchases, and that saying is ‘buy cheap, buy twice’. It is always tempting to cut corners wherever you can, especially with the world’s current financial instability in play, and indeed on some occasions, you might just get away with it.

On many occasions though, you won’t, and one part of life you should never cut corners with is when it comes to servicing your automobile. While it might be tempting to take your car for its annual service to your local corner garage, the truth is that if you do so, you’ll probably be shaving hundreds of dollars off your vehicle’s lifespan and resale value.

Want to Keep Your Nissan in Tip-Top Shape? Then Follow the Service Plan as Recommended

Certainly, when it comes to servicing your Nissan vehicle, you should only ever take your car, van or truck to a dealership that has been approved by Nissan themselves. The following few paragraphs will explain why.

Servicing is certainly big business, as you might imagine it to be, given the number of cars currently on America’s roads. The total annual budget for repair and maintenance in the US per year is currently around $600 billion and that’s a figure that’s sure to rise. Lots of garages are competing for your business, which means you can get some good deals, however, if you find yourself swayed by bargain prices offered by your local, non-factory approved dealerships, you have to ask yourself the question will, in the long run, those savings be worth it? The answer is always no.

First and foremost, the mechanics at your local garage will be happy to take in any car, no matter if it is made by Nissan, or Mitsubishi, or Ford, or Hyundai. That might make them sound as if they are experts, but here we can throw another common saying at you – “the Jack of all trades is the master of none.” If you have a Nissan vehicle, then you will want it to be cared for by people who could put back together a disassembled Nissan car from scratch, in the dark.

Factory-approved dealerships have to adhere to many specific criteria in order to retain their factory-approved status. One of those criteria is that they can only employ expert technicians who usually specialize in one make of vehicle. For Nissan factory approved dealerships, this means that the technicians will have undergone special training programs devised by Nissan themselves.

Nissan-approved Dealerships Have Staff That Have Undergone Nissan-approved Training Programs

That training does not only apply to technicians – service managers, service advisors and even support staff must undergo Nissan-approved training programs themselves. It’s all part of Nissan’s commitment to becoming the number one thought-of car manufacturing brand in the US, no matter how much effort that takes.

One further key aspect of servicing that should dissuade you from taking your vehicle for a service at your local garage is that doing so may invalidate any warranties currently running following your purchase. Obviously, if a non-approved mechanic tinkers with your vehicle, they may do something that causes more harm than good. You cannot then take your car to a Nissan-approved dealership to fix the problem that has been caused ‘under warranty’ as you cannot expect your warranty to cover damage that has been caused by a non-approved mechanic’s ineptitude or lack of experience.

If you have purchased your Nissan vehicle from the Charlie Clark Nissan dealership in El Paso, then please make sure you bring it back to us in line with the manufacturer’s service schedule. Contact us at (915) 226-0702, or online here to schedule a time to visit our stellar service department.

Nissan Sentra Inches Out the Competition to Win Consumer Reports Small Car Category

Those in the El Paso and Las Cruces, TX area shopping for a compact sedan now have even more reason to take a look at the Nissan Sentra. While other options in this segment have taken the lead in years past, Consumer Reports now crowns the Nissan Sentra as a new favorite.

It should come as no surprise that the Nissan Sentra has bested the likes of Honda, Toyota, and other carmakers with Nissan focusing heavily on raising the bar for its popular compact. One of the greatest achievements made by Nissan is the fuel efficiency in its late model Sentra.

The Nissan Sentra achieves nearly 40 miles per gallon on the highway. Although it goes light on the need for fuel, Nissan still figured out a way to make the Sentra get up and go that drivers can feel.

Packed in Power and Technology

Thanks to its blend of technology, design, and craftsmanship, the Nissan Sentra is setting a new standard for the compact car category. The styling of a new or late model preowned Nissan Sentra screams ready for action and appearance is no longer an afterthought.

The engineering of the Sentra’s drivetrain also makes for a more elevated driving experience than what most would come to expect from a car this affordable. The Nissan Sentra muscles 149-horsepower from its 2.0-liter direct injection gasoline engine.

That might not sound like much, but with the ability to squeeze out 146-pound-feet of torque coupled with the Xtronic transmission, the Nissan Sentra offers top-level driving dynamics that provide enhanced performance.

The efficient engine is only matched by an array of technology found in the Nissan Sentra. Driver assist features like Intelligent Cruise Control and Around View Monitor® provide safety for all passengers while the floating 8-inch NissanConnect® touchscreen display and smartphone integration make for a convenient commute.

More Stylish Design Than Ever

In the past, certain carmakers may focus more on style and design in only their larger vehicles. However, this is not the case for the Nissan Sentra. Clean lines and sharp details throughout give the sedan a fresh appeal for drivers of all ages.

With the model now in its 3rd year of a new redesign, the Nissan Sentra is building on its ever-growing popularity and showing off its new muscles. New options like a sleek Midnight Edition and All-Weather package means everyone can choose a customized Sentra perfectly suited to their style and needs.

The Nissan Sentra now more than ever offers El Paso and Las Cruces, TX drivers a premium feel without a luxury price tag. The acclaimed zero gravity front seats optimize posture for improved comfort, which pair nicely with the best-in-class front legroom.

Taking long distant trips in a Nissan Sentra is as enjoyable as it gets. Amenities previously reserved for vehicles in other segments are now made available in this more economical option, such as heated seats and heated steering wheel.

Find Your Nissan Sentra at Charlie Clark Nissan El Paso

Consumer Reports is not the only reviewer to name the Nissan Sentra as a top choice for El Paso and Las Cruces, TX shoppers. AARP is also touting the sedan as a top pick as well.

The 2022 IIHS Top Safety Pick award-winning Sentra is going to need a larger mantel to hold its growing list of accolades.

Nissan Pathfinder Now Offers Improved Off-Road Capability and Features with Rock Creek

The Nissan Pathfinder has experienced notable redesigns over the years. Less than a decade ago the rugged and reliable SUV received a third row and offered seating for up to seven passengers. The fan favorite for those in the El Paso and Las Cruces, TX region was redesigned again just over a year ago with a more modern look inside and out.

As the SUV proves to be a more and more competitive entry in its segment, the Nissan Pathfinder refuses to rest on its laurels for long. Do not let the new rugged approach to design fool you though. Nissan continues to prioritize comfort and convenience right alongside the brand-new opportunity for taking the Pathfinder off road.

With design nods to models as far back as the original in 1989—when it was classified as a truck—the newest Nissan Pathfinder stretches its prowess by extending the wheelbase in almost every direction. This change allows for even more cargo space and headroom than ever before.

More a Movement Than a Marketing Strategy

There is a greater purpose behind the newest model of Pathfinder than just offering an option for off-road enthusiasts. Nissan has partnered with the nonprofit organization Tread Lightly as part of a greater initiative to protect and enhance access to outdoor recreation.

Through education, training, and other programs, the collaboration is creating a healthier relationship between those looking to get outdoors and the sustainability of the outdoors themselves.

From the Juando Pass to The Wall to Red Sands, El Paso and Las Cruces feature several spots where the new Nissan Pathfinder Rock Creek will make for adventure in the great outdoors throughout the area.

The Nissan Pathfinder Rock Creek takes off-roading to a whole new level right off the showroom floor. Thanks to its exclusive intelligent four-wheel drive, all-terrain tires, a specifically tuned suspension, and multifaceted roof rack that screams strength, the Pathfinder Rock Creek is turning heads while taking on nature.

Technology that Makes Going Off Road Feel More on Point

The Intelligent Around View® Monitor in the Nissan Pathfinder Rock Creek provides perfect vision of whatever its driver is traversing. Cameras providing multiple angles of what is beside, behind, and below directly on the dash make conquering every terrain smarter. There is no guess work thanks to having eyes on every obstacle around.

Stepping inside the Nissan Pathfinder Rock Creek reveals a refined cabin with comforts that keep those inside the SUV safe and snug while enjoying the paths less traveled. Nissan has thought of it all when it comes to matching the inside with what you face on the outside.

A Civilized Interior to Compliment the Rugged Outdoors

Detailed design includes weather-resistance seat material so the cabin does not fall victim to the elements and your Nissan Pathfinder Rock Creek stays refined for nights out on the town and off the trail.

As an added touch, Nissan includes the Rock Creek logo throughout the vehicle, featuring a badge on the exterior and embossed in multiple locations inside with stitching to match. With multiply packages, colors, and versions to choose from, putting together your Nissan Pathfinder Rock Creek with genuine Nissan accessories is almost as fun as driving it.

How much of a monthly payment can I afford on a new or used vehicle?

You need a car, but when you look at your budget, you’re not sure what kind of down payment you should make or how much you can afford to pay each month. Maybe you haven’t made a car payment in a while. Or maybe you have been making a payment all along and it’s been putting a damper on your budget. Before you strap yourself into a new car, take a minute to figure out how much car you can afford and still live comfortably within your means.

How much you can spend on a vehicle, based on your salary

The general rule of thumb is to spend less than 45% of your gross income (before taxes and other deductions) on total debt, including credit cards, loans, rent, property taxes, etc. Calculating how much you can afford is simple. You can use an online calculator or do it yourself with the following calculations:

  • Calculation to determine total debt payments per month – To determine how much debt you can take on per month, you can multiply your annual salary by 45% (.45) and divide that amount by 12. Or to calculate by month, multiply your monthly salary by .45
  • Calculation for determining car payments per month – Now that you know what you can spend on debt each month (we’ll use $1,125 from the example above), you need to figure out what portion can go toward your car payment. You are calculating debt only, so don’t worry about groceries, utilities, or other household expenses.

Leasing vs financing

Leasing a car usually has a lower monthly payment because you’re not buying it. If you want to buy it later, you’ll have to pay a portion of the total cost of the vehicle. If you only need a car for a few years or you must have a lower payment, it might help you afford it.

Interest rate/credit score

The interest rate that you qualify for and receive will have a big impact on your payments and loan affordability. If your credit is poor, you will not have access to prime interest rates and will end up paying more out of pocket for that dream vehicle.

Down payment

A down payment can reduce your monthly payment, and many lenders require one to buy a car. You don’t always have to make a down payment, but if you’re struggling to fit it into your budget, it can help to reduce the monthly payment amount.

Length of the loan

The longer the repayment period of your loan, the lower your monthly payment will be, but the more you will pay out in interest over time. A loan with longer repayment terms can help you afford a much more expensive vehicle, although you will be paying for it much longer.

Other important factors to consider

Before you get excited and look for a car with a $375/month price tag, consider these things: Are you planning on purchasing another large item within the next few years? If so, you may not be able to afford it if your pay doesn’t increase substantially. Are you saving enough? If you don’t have an emergency fund or need to save for a down payment on a house or another large purchase, you may want to allocate more to savings. Keeping your monthly payments lower will help you do that. Depending on how much of a down payment you make and which terms you pick, you may be paying this amount for a long time. Will you be comfortable with that?

Ways to reduce your payment

  •  Save before you buy. You can save enough to buy the whole thing or simply save enough for a nice healthy down payment that will lighten your monthly debt burden.
  • Consider a lesser-expensive vehicle. Think about the most important features of your next vehicle. If you make some compromises, you might find a car that fits your needs without breaking the bank.
  • Sell your car privately instead of trading it in at the dealership. This can take some work, but you can often get a better price by privately selling it than the dealership may offer you.
  • Refinance your existing car loan. If you’re able to refinance at an interest rate that’s lower than your current one, that can help you save money. Refinancing with a longer loan term also may lower your monthly payment, but you’ll probably pay more interest in the long run.

Next steps

While you may not be able to control the rising purchase price of cars overall, you can make choices that affect the size of your car payment. As you develop your car budget, remember to factor in the other costs that come with vehicle ownership — like fuel, auto insurance and ongoing maintenance — as you consider how much you can afford to finance.

Charlie Clark Nissan, El Paso: How to Safely Tow a Trailer or Camper with a Nissan

Towing a trailer or RV/camper is easy if you know what to expect. It can be scary at first, but before long, you will feel comfortable and confident behind the wheel. This article will cover the basics you need to know and help you be ready for your first, safe towing experience in your Nissan vehicle.

Knowledge is key

  • Know your vehicle and trailer hitch tow capacities – Take the capacities of each and use the smaller of the two numbers. Overload damages can range from bent axles, tire blowouts, structural damage such as weld failure to overpowering the tow vehicle.
  • Know Your Height – Find out your height, add a foot just to be sure, and avoid any passage marked with a lower clearance than that value.
  • Know Your Route – Your ability to maneuver in traffic or make course correction is considerably more limited, especially on narrow roads or in urban areas.

Pre-trip preparation

  • Connect to the trailer hitch correctly – making sure your hitch is on, locked in, and your trailer wiring cables are connected, and all lights are working properly.
  • Distribute weight properly and evenly – observing a nice flat plane between the two. An imbalance can cause your trailer to be more vulnerable to sway.
  • Check and correct for best visibility – making sure you can see the rear end of your trailer through both side mirrors. If your visibility is limited, consider side mirror extensions.
  • Configure brake controller properly, if applicable – keeping the trailer from pushing forward on the tow vehicle during braking, which could cause you to jackknife.

Safe driving

  •  Turning – The only rule of thumb is that the longer your trailer is, the wider you want to turn. A long trailer can end up cutting a corner that was close to the vehicle.
  • Backing up – The way a trailer backs up seems backwards and simply takes getting used to before it feels natural. Take it slow and steady, and you should be fine.
  • Inclines – Keep to the right if you are going to be slow going up the hill. If you are well below the speed limit, turn on your hazard lights to caution other drivers.
  • Declines – Consider using engine braking, putting your engine into a lower gear as you come down a hill. It’s a good way to control your speed, and it eases up the wear on your brakes.
  • Braking – With a trailer, your stopping distance is longer. Maintain a good distance between you and the vehicle in front of you so that you have plenty of time to stop.
  • Trailer sway – Maintain good weight distribution, do not drive in high winds, and keep vehicle speed slow to help reduce risks of trailer sway.
  • Keep right – In nearly every state, slower-moving and larger vehicles are required to keep to the right lanes of the highway whenever possible. It’s better for the overall flow of traffic, and it is generally safer.
  • Parking – Ensure that you have enough clearance in front of and behind the vehicle and trailer to ensure safe parking, as well as a safe exit.

Nissan Vehicle Towing Capacities

Towing capacity is the maximum weight that a vehicle can pull while towing. Towing capacities vary from vehicle to vehicle. See the towing information in your vehicle owner’s manual to confirm whether your Nissan vehicle can be used to tow and if so, what its towing capacity rating is. Use this data and the information on the new Nissan towing capacities and payloads chart to help select the proper Nissan vehicle to meet your anticipated towing needs and refer to it when renting a trailer or other piece of towing equipment.

  • 2021 Titan – up to 9,350lbs maximum towing capacity
  • 2021 Titan XD – up to 11,040lbs maximum towing capacity
  • 2022 Frontier – up to 6,720lbs maximum towing capacity
  • 2022 Pathfinder – up to 6,000lbs maximum towing capacity
  • 2022 Murano – up to 1,500lbs maximum towing capacity
  • 2021 Rogue – up to 1,350lbs maximum towing capacity
  • 2022 Armada – up to 8,500lbs maximum towing capacity

Introducing the Long Awaited 2023 Nissan Z | Charlie Clark Nissan El Paso Blog

The Nissan Z is the long-awaited new sports car from Nissan. It is a replacement for the 350Z, with Nissan having dropped the numbers from the vehicle’s name. Despite being a new generation model, the Z keeps all the features that has made the 350Z one of its most popular vehicles – with twin seats, RWD and a six-speed manual transmission.

One area though that the new Z has really improved in is power, with a twin-turbo 3.0 liter V6 engine that can boast 400hp. This is the same VR30DDTT V6 engine from Nissan’s Infiniti Red Sport 400 models. It maxes out at 400 hp at 6400 rpm and 350 lb-ft of torque. This 3.0 liter engine has variable valve timing and direct injection which adds a maximum 14.7 psi of boost.

The Entry Level Trim of the 2023 Nissan Z is the Nissan Z Sport

The Z Sport is the entry level trim, but it has an identical powertrain to other Z’s in the range. It also has a completely customizable 12.3-inch TFT instrument display, a complete set of safety features, club seats that have synthetic suede inserts and driver-assistance tools.

The next trim up in the Z Performance. Among its upgrades over the Sport include an eight-speaker Bose stereo system (two more speakers than the Sport), heated leather seats, more responsive braking and firmer suspension.

In terms of looks, the Performance switches the Sport’s 18-inch wheels with lightweight 19-inch forged Rays wheels. The Performance also has red-painted brake calipers, front and rear spoilers and a dual exhaust. The Performance model also has an automatic launch control which the Sport does not have.

The top trim is the Proto Spec which is basically a Performance that’s been merged with the Z Proto concept car. It is a full bumblebee design – yellow body, black roof, bronze wheels, yellow brake calipers and black seats with yellow stitching and accents.

The 2023 Nissan Z is All About Stunning Good Looks and Envy Inducing Power

The Z goes a little overboard in instrumentation, featuring three analog gauges that are basically just there for show – one for boost, one is a turbocharger tachometer and one is a voltmeter. Like Z models of the past, this vehicle has similar-looking taillights and the usual ‘long hood, short deck’ visual appeal.

"The Z has always been an accessible sports car – always placed at the intersection of aspiration and attainability – of dreams and reality,” said Ashwani Gupta, COO at Nissan. “This latest iteration is now ready to thrill Z enthusiasts and create a whole new generation of Z fans as well, when it comes to market here in the U.S. early next year.”

The only bad news about the new Nissan Z is the waiting time until this premier vehicle is released for purchase, which may not happen until April 2022.

The Charlie Clark Nissan Showroom is the Place to go for all Your Nissan Vehicle Needs

If you like the sound and look of the 2023 Nissan Z, then why not head down to the Charlie Clark Nissan showroom in El Paso when the vehicle is released onto the market? Everything You Need to Know About the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder | Charlie Clark Nissan El Paso Blog

One of Nissan’s flagship vehicles, the Pathfinder, is in receipt of a comprehensive stylish makeover that Nissan hopes will see it regain the ground it has lost in recent years to vehicles such as the Toyota Highlander and the Hyundai Palisade. If you are looking for a strong, sturdy and reliable vehicle with plenty of cargo space, the ability to tow trailers and some off road capability, then the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder should be exactly what you are looking for.

The 2022 version of the Pathfinder has a powerful V6 engine that is paired to a nine-speed automatic transmission. The SUV comes with FWD fitted as standard, so if you intend to spend some time in your Pathfinder off road, then you will want to upgrade to the AWD option. The latest version of the Nissan Pathfinder is again a three-row SUV with space for up to eight passengers. The infotainment features of the Pathfinder have been upgraded too, and increased tech is available via a series of potential upgrades.

The 2022 Pathfinder is all-new from the ground-up. Every inch of the vehicle was carefully designed to convey a sense of strength and capability with a strong front face, wide stance, blister fenders and a shorter front overhang (versus the previous design).

The 2022 Nissan Pathfinder, so what’s new?

The first thing you will probably notice about the new version of the Pathfinder is its impressive new look. The appearance of the 2020 model was not well-received, with many people condemning it as lackluster. This new Pathfinder has taken a more modern approach with a return to the more rugged looking Pathfinders of old.

The two base trims of the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder (S and SV) both come with an advanced set of driver assistance features, but it is likely to be the next trim up (SL) that is going to be the most popular. With the SL trim drivers receive a 9.0-inch infotainment system complete with a 360-degree camera which features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. With the SL’s premier package more luxuries become available, including a panoramic sunroof, a Bose stereo system, 20-inch wheels, heated rear seats and wireless smartphone charging.

Performance, Transmission and Power in the all-new 2022 Nissan Pathfinder

One of the biggest changes with the 2022 version of the Nissan Pathfinder is the dropping of the continuously-variable automatic transmission. It has been replaced by a new nine-speed automatic transmission although the same powertrain as from the previous generation – 284-hp 3.5-liter V-6 engine – has been retained. In testing, the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder accelerates from a standing start to 60 mph in 6.7 seconds.

Despite these upgrades the handling of the new Pathfinder has not changed much, although a more comfortable ride over rugged terrain in particular is aided by sound deadening agents meaning the noise experienced within the cabin is maintained at a minimum.

In terms of fuel efficiency, the EPA has rated the Pathfinder at 23 mpg combined (21 city, 27 highway) for the AWD, with very little difference for the FWD model.

The 2022 Pathfinder is all-new from the ground-up. Every inch of the vehicle was carefully designed to convey a sense of strength and capability with a strong front face, wide stance, blister fenders and a shorter front overhang (versus the previous design).

2022 Nissan Pathfinder – Cargo and Comfort

Again, the previous generation of the Nissan Pathfinder came in for criticism over the dated design of its interior. This criticism has spurred Nissan on to completely update the look of the interior of the Nissan, with stylings closer to that of a truck than a standard SUV. There is also more cabin storage space, while higher trim versions come with extra luxuries such as semi-aniline leather upholstery, a panoramic sunroof and ventilated front seats.

If you are interested in the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder or any generation of the Pathfinder or any other Nissan model, then please check out the inventory available at Charlie Clark Nissan. Please feel free also to contact us at any time with any questions you might have, by phone at (915) 233 2730, or online through our contact form.

Choosing a Home Charger for a Nissan EV

As El Paso electric vehicle shoppers get further along in the process of transitioning from a traditional gas-powered vehicle to an all new EV (electric vehicle) like the popular Nissan LEAF, one decision that has to be made is how to charge the EV between rides.

EV drivers love the experience of owning an electric vehicle. From the instant acceleration only a battery powered vehicle provides to skipping out on not only fill-ups at the pump, but also other routine maintenance like oil changes—there is a lot to love about driving an EV these days.

El Paso electric vehicle owners also appreciate the ability to fuel their car in their very own driveway or garage at night while they sleep. Thanks to the 6.6 kilowatt charger that comes on-board and a port for quick charging, the Nissan LEAF provides for fast charging in between trips.

To be technical, when we talk about chargers, we actually mean power supplies. Outlets and other sources simply supply the power that the on-board charger uses to fuel the battery, but for simplicities sake, we’ll stick with charger.

Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn announces NGP 2016.

An EV Keeps El Paso Drivers on the Go

Not only can drivers of a new or used Nissan LEAF charge at their home, but there are also public charging stations currently dotting the map around El Paso where EV drivers can get a quick charge thanks to the fast-charging capabilities of an electric vehicle like the Nissan LEAF.

The Nissan LEAF uses a technology known as CHAdeMO, which is the most optimized fast charging standard. Using a public fast charger located around town means your electric vehicle will be charged up in no time. EV drivers are always surprised at the range just a handful of minutes at a public quick charging station provides.

There is less and less range-anxiety for electric vehicle drivers throughout the El Paso area today than ever before. Today’s technology and charging options go a long way in assuaging these concerns—especially around the house.

Charging at Home Makes Driving an El Paso Electric Vehicle Even More Convenient

When it comes to charging your Nissan LEAF or other electric vehicle at home, the convenience for modern chargers makes it easier than ever. In fact, one option for charging at home is as simple as plugging your EV into a standard 110-volt wall outlet just as you would any other appliance.

This option provides what is known as “Level 1” charging, which meets the need for many drivers who don’t travel very far each day. Fully charging up your El Paso Nissan LEAF EV using a 110-volt outlet can take around 20 hours if the battery has been completely depleted.

However, “Level 2” charging using a 240V outlet can cut that time by over half.  Depending on the amperage, charging a Nissan LEAF at Level 2 can be done in about 7 hours. This is the perfect amount of time to charge up an electric vehicle at night in your garage or driveway to be ready to go with a full charge the next day.

Most El Paso electric vehicle drivers opt to have a “Level 2 charger installed by a professional electrician at home when they purchase their new or used Nissan LEAF EV. Today’s options include smart chargers that connect to an app to manage charging.

To learn more about EV charging options, contact the expert team at Charlie Clark Nissan El Paso. Call Charlie Clark Nissan El Paso at 915-706-4100 or browse our website where you can chat with a friendly and knowledge associate today!

Why You Should Own an Electric Vehicle.

It is time we stop saying that EV’s (electric vehicles) are set to become the future of transportation and understand how they are actually the present—or at least they are the most efficient and responsible option currently. What was once thought to be reserved for celebrities or the uberwealthy in big cities is becoming more and more the standard for everyday drivers in every city—like El Paso.

As the technology driving EV’s has skyrocketed over the past few years, both the cost of ownership and the conveniences they bring have also improved dramatically for residents in a place like El Paso. In fact, with today’s electric vehicles, the cost to power and maintain an EV can cost just a third of what it costs to fuel and maintain a traditional gas-powered vehicle.

Incentives at Every Level for Electric Vehicle Drivers

What many El Paso drivers are unaware of is that with fewer moving parts and less opportunity for friction in the engine, electric vehicles do not require oil changes or other regular services like vehicles powered by combustion engines. Instead, an electric vehicle allows drivers to stay on the road longer simply by no longer requiring the inconvenient routine maintenance of a gas-powered vehicle.

Not only is the low cost of ownership a worthy incentive in and of itself, but there are other ways that governments or power companies are making driving an electric car extra worth it. From the federal level all the way down to certain municipalities, tax credits, rebates, and discounts abound for owners of EV’s—even in a place like El Paso, TX.

As if the financial incentives and the pride of owning one were not enough, an added bonus for electric vehicle drivers throughout the El Paso area is the increased performance. The ability of electric vehicles to transfer power from their battery to the engine and throughout the drivetrain in a fraction of the time it takes a gas-powered vehicle means instant torque.

More responsive acceleration coupled with a quieter ride is an added benefit many drivers are unaware of until they get behind the wheel of an electric vehicle for the first time. This perk is not just reserved for only higher-end electric vehicles but is a part of every model.

The Only Environmentally Friendly Choice Means Making Much Less Impact

While incentives have been used to get the ball rolling toward critical mass, the number one motivator for EV drivers currently is their effect on the environment—or rather their lack of an effect. Being much cleaner to operate and to manufacture, electric vehicles do not leave a devastating mark on nonrenewable energy sources.

Thanks to their zero emission powertrains and the ability for El Paso electric vehicle drivers to charge their EV using electricity sourced from low-emissions sources such as solar panels, wind, and natural gas, electric vehicles are the most climate conscious decision drivers can make.

When you are ready to experience an electric vehicle in El Paso for the first time, the expert team at Charlie Clark Nissan El Paso is here to help. With makes and models like the all-electric Nissan LEAF—which is still building on over a decade of advancements in the EV market—Charlie Clark Nissan El Paso features the latest new and used options for electric vehicles in El Paso.

Call Charlie Clark Nissan El Paso at 915-706-4100 or browse the inventory of electric vehicles online where you can also safely and securely book a test drive while beginning the process of purchasing an electric vehicle today!

Our Love for El Paso Texas—Our Home, Our Life

It is not happenstance that Charlie Clark Nissan El Paso made its home here in El Paso. Charlie Clark Nissan El Paso intentionally chose El Paso. Actually, you could say that El Paso chose Charlie Clark Nissan.

To understand how Charlie Clark Nissan El Paso wound up making El Paso its home, you have to know the Charlie Clark story. Charlie Clark himself was raised in the McAllen TX area and while located nearly 800 miles from El Paso, McAllen shares much of the same culture that attracted Charlie Clark to El Paso.

A large part of Charlie Clark’s rearing was influenced by the time he spent with his nanny—Mari Cruz Aurora Aguirre—who he called, “Nana.” She was a native of Montemorelos, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Nana played a key role in developing Charlie Clark’s love and appreciation for the melding of cultures along the Texas border.

Charlie Clark’s firsthand exposure to many Mexican traditions in the home of Mrs. Aguirre and across the border in nearby Reynosa led to a deep affection for the festive environments he often experienced. This appreciation and affection has led to the culture Charlie Clark creates in his El Paso dealership.

One recent online testimonial even states, “It’s a party atmosphere in that place from the time they open their doors in the morning till they close.” Another reads, “I love your commercials. I think your Nana is so beautiful.” Charlie Clark would agree!

The Beauty of El Paso’s Geography is Only Matched by its People

Not only is the geography a sight to behold, but so is its wildlife. Hikers, bikers, and others love to view beautiful landscapes along with the diverse ecosystem. Birds, reptiles, and small mammals all live throughout the city limits of El Paso. It is a regular occurrence to spot mule deer, coyotes, and even an occasional mountain lion.

El Paso sits on the westernmost point of Texas and features striking views of the Franklin Mountains that extend north into New Mexico. The rich history of El Paso goes back hundreds of years and it is no wonder how El Paso became the site of choice for many to watch the Mexican Revolution rage between rebel and federal forces back in 1911.

While no longer a place of nearby revolution, El Paso does demonstrate honor to military heritage through its own Fort Bliss; which is home of the U. S. Army’s tank division. Soldiers who call El Paso home are regularly involved in giving back to the community through toy drives and other efforts.

Sun City is Also a Safe and Fun City

Also known as Sun City, El Paso has a storied history of tales for which the wild west is often depicted in movies and legend. While the truth of these stories cannot be validated, the area pays homage to its country western heritage all around town. Ironically, in light of its wild west reputation, El Paso is actually one of the top 10 safest cities in the nation.

The name Sun City is one that El Paso earns due to the large number of sunny days every year. Charlie Clark Nissan El Paso loves to call a place with this type of climate home. The weather in El Paso provides for lots of opportunities to enjoy life outdoors. The Franklin Mountains State Park provides many ways for El Paso residents to enjoy activities outside like camping and hiking.

Many People Have Learned that El Paso is a Great Place to Raise a Family

The famous El Paso Zoo is another outdoor attraction that features fun for the whole family. The zoo’s 35 acres of green space and exotic animals from all over the world make it a favorite destination for many in the city. Along with the zoo, downtown El Paso features seasonal festivities throughout the year for all of its residents and visitors to enjoy.

The cultural crossroads of El Paso provides one of the most delicious culinary scenes of any city. Residents and tourists are regularly treated to authentic Mexican, true southwestern, and the best Tex-Mex cuisine you can find anywhere. The appreciation for food found in El Paso is what leads Charlie Clark Nissan El Paso to feature fresh pan dulce daily along with special grilling every Saturday featuring tacos, carne asada, burgers, and more.

The great public school system coupled with outstanding colleges and universities make El Paso a popular destination for those who highly value education. Coupled with the low cost of living, Charlie Clark Nissan El Paso knew that it would be easy to serve a population that shares these same values.

El Paso Displays Tribute to History

The ways in which El Paso honors the past is another reason Charlie Clark Nissan El Paso calls our city home. El Paso features the only border patrol museum in all of America and also provides the only bi-lingual Holocaust museum in the U.S. as well.

The beautiful architecture of El Paso includes lots of adobe—Spanish for mudbrick—structures in the El Paso area. Although adobe is among the earliest building materials used throughout the world, it is not one forsaken by designers and builders around El Paso. The use of adobe is another way the history of Latin American culture is on display in the El Paso area.

Charlie Clark Nissan El Paso wanted to be part of a community where art lovers, history buffs, and others with a deep love of blended cultures are not only welcomed, but also celebrated. To understand even more why Charlie Clark Nissan El Paso chose to call this area home, simply drop by the dealership to experience it for yourself.

Call today or even start your Charlie Clark Nissan El Paso experience online where you can read about all the ways Charlie Clark Nissan El Paso chooses to give back and add to the rich cultural community of El Paso.

Coronavirus (Covid-19): A Comprehensive Guide to Staying Safe and Knowing What to Expect – Charlie Clark Nissan El Paso Dealer

No time in history has prepared us for what we now face. Perhaps the saving grace in the current global pandemic is that we are all in this together. There is no one immune (pardon the pun) to the current circumstance. As we all dig in and watch humanity be put to the test, read on for a how-to guide on making sure you stay in the know in the age of COVID-19.

Take Steps to Ensure Personal Safety for You and Loved Ones

What we had all hoped would be a short season is turning into a marathon with no clear end in sight. Whether it’s figuring out how to work from home while managing with kids or constantly scrubbing your hands, there is a lot to consider.

As the flight attendant says before takeoff, put your mask on first. If you are not taking care of yourself well, you will not be able to take care of those around you. According to the American Red Cross, who is monitoring the coronavirus disease very closely, “the best way to prevent illness from COVID-19 is to avoid being exposed to the virus, as there is no vaccine to prevent COVID-19.” The first step is trying to steer clear of those who may be infected.

Keeping yourself isolated is obviously a privilege, but for those who have the option, there is no better way to keep yourself healthy. Leave home only for essentials. If you do have to run to the grocery store or pharmacy, maintain a distance of at least six feet from anyone else. This dramatically decreases the chance you will contract the virus.

The Center for Disease Control has stated that the virus is spread primarily from person-to-person through respiratory droplets, but it could be possible to contract COVID-19 from touching a surface or object that has the virus on it. If you come in contact with a contaminated surface and then touch your mouth, nose, or eyes, you could contract the virus yourself. Therefore, in addition to maintaining a safe distance from others, it is recommended that you also avoid touching your face.

You need to wash your hands more often and for longer than you would think. When washing your hands, do so for at least 20 seconds. Some tricks to making sure you are spending adequate time scrubbing include singing “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” or “Happy Birthday” twice. When you get tired of these child classics, you can always switch to the chorus of Beyoncé’s “Love on Top”. Although the most popular choice is the chorus of Dolly Parton’s “Jolene. Both of the options will get you to 20 seconds in the sink.

After you’ve washed your hands properly, avoided touching your face, and stayed away from others, there are still a few other steps to staying healthy. Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces every day. Doorknobs, handles, computers, faucets, countertops, and cell phones tend to be the biggest culprits for housing disease-inducing pathogens.

Finally, if you must be around others in tight quarters, you should wear a facemask. Facemasks are especially recommended for those who are experiencing symptoms of any kind and when visiting a doctor’s office.

What If I Have to Travel During the Pandemic?

Some of us just don’t have the option of never leaving the house. When work or caring for a loved one requires you to travel, there are still precautions you can take in order to avoid becoming infected.

The U.S. State Department has issued its highest level warning—a Global Level 4 Health Advisory—notifying Americans not to travel internationally. In fact, the department has advised that all U.S. citizens should arrange for immediate return to the Unites States unless prepared to remain abroad for an indefinite period of time. The CDC has also issued a warning against all nonessential travel.

If you must travel, the first thing to do is confirm all your plans. Check with hotels, airlines, and vehicle rental companies directly to make sure they are still able to accommodate you and those traveling with you. The hospitality industry has been hit hard by the pandemic so make sure to monitor updates and alerts closely from any service you have booked.

With all the restrictions and warnings currently issued for travelers, there have also been some restrictions eased. For example, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), is allowing passengers to carry 12 ounces of hand sanitizer in a carry-on for the time being. The previous allowance for any liquid was only 3.4 ounces. Permitting a larger container of hand sanitizer allows passengers to disinfect hands more often, but increased hand washing and avoiding contact with the face are still encouraged even with the use of hand sanitizers.

Scientists at Johns Hopkins University have developed a real-time map tracking the coronavirus. If you must travel during the pandemic, you can check the map to see if the virus has been reported wherever you are headed before you arrive. This will help you to be in the know and take further precaution if necessary. As of March 31st, the United States currently has the most confirmed cases with over 164,000 people who have tested positive. The Johns Hopkins site also has a link to a Google Sheet containing all confirmed and suspected cases of the coronavirus.

What Can I Expect from Responsible Businesses Like Charlie Clark Nissan El Paso That Are Still Open?

Many employers are taking steps to balance the delicate scale of keeping their workers gainfully employed during the pandemic while also maintaining a safe workplace for both employees and customers. This effort begins with education. Responsible businesses are making sure to communicate openly with their workforce so that everyone is well informed of the situation. Company policies and procedures relating to good hygiene are being updated and implemented real-time as organizations like the CDC and WHO release new information.

Some businesses have taken an extra step to appoint an emergency management team or task force. This can provide a single point of contact in order to avoid duplication of efforts and miscommunication within the company. Creating a resource center with information from across all departments such as HR, IT, and legal is often the first task for a newly appointed emergency management team.

Employees may feel the pressure to show up to work in order to maintain a regular rhythm and not appear to lack work ethic during the outbreak, but it is vital for employers to encourage their workforce to stay home if they fall ill. Businesses should actively encourage employees to go home immediately (and stay home) when exhibiting signs of a fever or other symptoms. To ease the anxiety of their employees and influence them to stay away if not well, many businesses are demonstrating flexibility when it comes to sick leave and attendance.

In order to create a safe environment for customers, businesses are taking extra precautions to screen visitors such as vendors, delivery drivers, or maintenance contractors coming onto their property. Furthermore, businesses are under an obligation to inform visitors of any known coronavirus cases among their employees.

Managing Well and Being Productive While Working from Home (For Those Who Can)

With all of the CDC recommendations and stay-at-home orders, many of us have found ourselves trying to work from home while also managing children or other family members. This can be a lot to handle, but it does not have to overwhelm you. There are steps you can take to make the most of the situation.

If you are fortunate enough to work from home, understand your circumstance as a luxury. Many healthcare, restaurant staff, and other essential workers don’t have the opportunity to work from home. Once you have made this mindset shift, you will then want to set some clear boundaries. Drawing clear lines between work and the rest of life will go a long way to helping you maintain your sanity.

You can draw boundaries by something as simple as your wardrobe. You wouldn’t show up to work in your pajamas so take the time to get ready for your work day just as you would if you were still heading in to the office. Shower, brush your teeth, and dress the part. This signifies to others in the house (and to your mind) that you are at work—even if not physically.

Have a dedicated work space with the right setup. Your space does not have to be fancy. A clean and well-organized kitchen counter or dining room table will do just fine. The key is just having a space, rather than spaces throughout the house. Videoconferencing apps like Zoom, laptop stands with wireless keyboards, and other tools will help to designate a boundary and set you up for being as productive as possible.

As we all try to navigate this new normal, there are steps we can take to adjust accordingly. With a focus on staying healthy, taking steps to ensure safe travel, and being responsible in the workplace, we will get through this one day at a time together.
