Technological differences between American and European LEAF models
What autonomous features are available on the 2018 Nissan LEAF?
Every single year, technology keeps finding new ways to amaze us. Not just in the form of smartphones and handheld devices, but also in some bigger pieces of innovation, such as our cars. One car that continues to step up the competition is the Nissan LEAF. This year, LEAF models in Japan and Europe will be receiving a couple of autonomous features, which we hope American models will also receive in the not-too-distant future. So what autonomous features are available on the 2018 Nissan LEAF?
2018 LEAF includes Nissan Intelligent Drive with ProPILOT
As announced a few months ago, Nissan will be bringing its autonomous driver assistance technology—ProPILOT— to the 2018 LEAF. A key feature of Nissan Intelligent Drive, ProPILOT will help drivers on the highway with steering, braking, acceleration, etc. Nissan plans on having ProPILOT available in multiple mass production models by 2020. Thankfully, this will include vehicles in the US, as well as many other countries. Watch the video below for more information on ProPILOT.
2018 Nissan LEAF features ProPILOT Park technology
In a much more recent announcement, Nissan told the world that the 2018 LEAF will also be receiving ProPILOT Park technology. In addition to helping Nissan drivers on the road, ProPILOT Park will assist in parking one’s vehicle from several different angles. Imagine a car that can both drive and park itself; the LEAF is the closest thing to it. For visual demonstrations of ProPILOT Park in action, watch the video below.
We hope this has helped to answer your question, “What autonomous features are available on the 2018 Nissan LEAF?” While ProPilot may not be available just yet, we do have plenty of great Nissan vehicles with their own long lists of features. Want to see them in person? Schedule a test drive today! Our financing team would also be happy to help in any way that they can.
We hope to see you soon!
