Nissan Unveils the 2019 Altima at the New York International Auto Show

2019 Nissan Altima Changes and Release Date

For a long time now, the Altima has been a staple of the Nissan lineup. Generation after generation, the model continues to stay modern and innovative, and that won’t change for 2019 as the Altima enters its 6th generation. At the New York International Auto Show, the 2019 Nissan Altima was unveiled with exciting changes that only heighten the anticipation ahead of the model’s future release date.

So, what can you expect once you finally get behind the wheel? Well, the list goes on and on, but we’ll try to highlight some of the major changes and upgrades received by the 2019 model.

[Read more: See what to expect from the 2018 Nissan Kicks]

New Engine Options In the 2019 Altima

One of the most exciting changes for 2019 is the addition of two new engine options. The Altima has really never struggled to deliver power and performance, but as engineering and technology change, so to must each vehicle on the road in order to provide drivers with a world-class driving experience.

The 2019 Altima will be replacing its predecessor’s 3.5-liter V6 engine with a variable compression turbo inline 4-cylinder, a first for Nissan and something that will be capable of delivering performance that rivals V6 engines. The standard engine on the 2019 Altima, however, is a 2.5-liter DOHC inline 4-cylinder direct-injection engine that not only delivers thrilling horsepower, but also provides enhancements in the areas of vibration and noise.

We also can’t forget the cherry on top, which is the available Intelligent All-Wheel Drive. If you’ve been looking for a sedan that offers an all-wheel drive option, you’ve finally found one.

ProPILOT Assist On the 2019 Nissan Altima

Though we can’t get into all of the fine details regarding the changes to the 2019 model (unless you want to be reading this for the next hour and a half), there is one technological addition to the Altima that we are particularly excited about. It’s part of Nissan Intelligent Mobility, and it’s called ProPILOT Assist.

ProPILOT Assist is a driver assistance technology that can reduce the amount of input required by the driver for acceleration, steering or braking during certain driving conditions. This should provide a more relaxing and less taxing driving experience than you’re used to, which is a great thing. We also can’t forget about the Rear Automatic Braking system. You’ve probably heard of forward collision warning systems, but in this case, the vehicle can help you detect objects behind you when backing up and apply the brakes to avoid a collision if necessary.

We’ve really only touched the surface when it comes to the many exciting changes you can expect from the 2019 Nissan Altima, but there’s plenty here to have us all looking forward to its release date. So, when can you get behind the wheel? The 2019 Nissan Altima is expected to go on sale in the fall of 2018, so the wait shouldn’t be long. Until then, we’ll update you on all the latest news here on the Charlie Clark Nissan El Paso blog

Nissan Comes Up Big in AutoPacific Vehicle Satisfaction Awards

How Does Nissan Rank in Vehicle Satisfaction?

Any automotive manufacturer can say whatever they want about a vehicle. It could be one of the worst vehicles in the past 50 years, but that brand’s marketing department certainly won’t make it seem so. To ensure consumers get a clear picture of what vehicles stand above the rest, it’s important to rely on third-party automotive awards.

The AutoPacific Vehicle Satisfaction Awards (VSA) are exactly what we’re talking about, and in August 2019, Nissan came up big. In fact, for 3 straight years, Nissan received the most category honors of any brand.

These best-in-class wins from the AutoPacific VSAs included the 5-time winning Murano, which reigned supreme in the Premium Mid-Size Crossover SUV category, as well as the 4-time winning Maxima in the Luxury Mid-Size Car category.

More of the most satisfying vehicles included the Rogue and Altima, earning their places atop the Premium Mid-Size Crossover SUV and Mid-Size Car categories, respectively. Lastly, the king of SUVs, the 8-passenger Armada, took the top spot in the Large SUV category.

Read up on more Nissan news here

The VSA awards look at 32 vehicle attributes that include everything from performance to design. Most importantly, however, there isn’t just some panel of judges making these decisions. Instead, the winning vehicles are selected based on responses from 50,000 new vehicle owners to get a true feel for owner satisfaction with their new vehicle.

Nissan RDA – Reminder Technology for Second and Third Row Seats

2018 Nissan Pathfinder will debut the Rear Door Alert system

Every now and then, one Nissan vehicle is just a little bit luckier than its siblings. This year, the 2018 Nissan Pathfinder will debut the Rear Door Alert system and make history in the process. No need for the other vehicles to get too jealous, however, as many of them will also receive Rear Door Alert (RDA) in the near future? So, what exactly is RDA?

Read more: What is Nissan ProPILOT and How Does it Work?

What is Rear Door Alert (RDA)?

A couple of Nissan engineers—Elsa Foley and Marlene Mendoza—developed the idea of RDA after Foley accidentally left a pan of lasagna in her car overnight. Needless to say, the car reeked of lasagna for several days afterwards. If only there would have been some form of technology to help her remember the lasagna was in her back seat. Now, with the RDA system, forgotten backseat cargo will be a thing of the past.

How Does RDA Work?

A car equipped with RDA will remember the patterns of your car doors opening and closing, and then react when necessary. For instance, if you open and close at least one of the back doors of your Nissan vehicle before driving somewhere, arrive at your destination, turn off the car, and then leave the vehicle without opening and closing at least or more of those doors, RDA will notice this and activate.Rear Door Alert in Settings menu.

Display of Rear Door Alert in Settings menu.Configurations of Rear Door Alert settings

Available configurations of Rear Door Alert settings.

Does RDA Have More Than One Setting?

The nature of the RDA’s response is up to you, as the system can be customized very easily. When configuring the RDA in the settings menu of the Pathfinder, you will be able to choose whether you want the RDA to activate as a silent notification on the instrument panel, a series of distinctive horn honks, or both. Even better, the RDA system can be disabled either temporarily or permanently, however you see fit.

A modern-day pioneer in the world of driver assistance technology, Nissan ProPILOT Assist is designed specifically for American roads and traffic conditions. To turn on the system, the driver only needs to push the blue button marked “ProPILOT Assist ON,” which is located in the right-side steering wheel spoke. Next, when the desired speed is reached, the driver should set the Intelligent Cruise Control.

As long as lane markers are consistently detected, the steering assist—indicated by steering wheel/lane marker icons on the instrument panel—helps to keep the driver’s vehicle in its respective lane. If the car comes to a complete stop for more than three seconds, such as in a traffic jam, then the driver will simply need to tap the accelerator pedal or hit the “resume” button and the car will be on its way to the driver’s desination in no time at all.

All-electric, zero-emission prototype sparks interest at Goodwood

What is the Nissan BladeGlider concept sports car?

This weekend at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in England, Nissan is rolling out several of its most-wanted sports cars including the GT-R NISMO and MY17, as well as the BladeGlider. The NISMO and MY17 have made quite the names for themselves as of late, but you may be wondering, “What is the Nissan BladeGlider concept sports car?”

What are the Nissan BladeGlider specs?

The BladeGlider is an all-electric, zero-emission concept car determined to flip the electric vehicle (EV) market on its head. Not only is the BladeGlider an EV, but it is also the future of sports cars. With the ability to go from 0-60 mph in less than five seconds with a top speed of 115 mph, the BladeGlider certainly stands out from rival EVs as it leaves them in the past.

What does the BladeGlider mean for future Nissan releases?

While the BladeGlider is not yet scheduled for a production model, it is evidence of a few very important things. First, Nissan is on its way to giving the world a whole new kind of EV. Second, although the Bladeglider itself may not be a production car, there may very well come a day when a Nissan production-line EV packs the same punch. Third, and perhaps most importantly, the BladeGlider proves that Nissan makes its EVs the same way it makes its gas-powered vehicles – better than the competition.Read more: What are the 2017 Nissan Titan and Titan XD King Cab Prices? We hope this has helped to answer your question, “What is the Nissan BladeGlider concept sports car?” Be sure to follow our blog for the latest info on the BladeGlider and many other Nissan vehicles. What is Nissan Automatic Emergency Braking? How Does AEB work?

AEB is a type of driver assistance technology that measures and monitors the proximity between your vehicle and the one in front of it. As soon as the radar system detects a possible risk of collision, it will alert you with audible and visual warnings to hit the brakes, slow down, and avoid such a collision.

If you are not able to react in time, AEB will apply the brakes on your behalf, which should eliminate the risk of an accident between you and the vehicle in front of you. However, if the impact is unavoidable and AEB cannot prevent the crash, the damage will still be reduced by AEB hitting the brakes for you. By approaching the car in front of you at a lower speed, there should less damage done to everyone and everything involved.
