Best Father’s Day 2019 Activities in El Paso, TX

It’s June, which means that Father’s Day is just around the proverbial corner. It can be hard to think of good ways to show dad you care, so we rounded up a few ideas for you to celebrate together in the El Paso area. And if none of these jump out at you, don’t lose heart; there’s more out there!

  • When? Sunday, June 16th from 10 am to 1 pm

What better way to treat dad to a good time than a nice old-fashioned brunch? The buffet here at the Centennial Banquet and Conference Center boasts made-to-order eggs and omelets, along with a seemingly endless selection of lunch and dinner favorites.

Reserve your spot or get more info by calling 915-744-8427. Tickets are $22.95 per adult, $11.95 per child aged five through ten, and free for kids four and under. If you’re interested, be sure to make your reservations by June 13th.

Juneteenth Kulture Fest Block Party

  • Where? 8635 Dyer St, El Paso
  • When? Sunday, June 16th, from 11 am to 7 pm

This is the first in what we hope will be a long-running yearly event- it just sounds so darned interesting! Exotic sounds will fill every nook and cranny with musical performances going on throughout the day and into the night. The wide range of genres include jazz, blues, hip-hop, reggae, calypso, and more. If you keep your ears open, you might even hear the song from that 2018 Nissan Kicks commercial.

And not only will there be jams, but there will be eats. Cuisine styles ranging from Africa, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Creole, Soul Food, and more will be simmering to tempt your palate.

Face painting and dancing round out the festivities to ensure fun for the whole family. If he’s into this kind of thing, this sounds like a great way to have a memorable Father’s Day with dad. Children aged twelve and under are free.

Spend Father’s Day with some Bad Muthas!

  • Where? Speaking Rock Entertainment Center, 122 S Old Pueblo Rd, El Paso, TX

What are the best Easter 2019 events in El Paso TX?

Easter Events 2019 in El Paso TX

Easter is coming up later this month, and we here in Texas need to find some ways to celebrate. To help, we’ve compiled a few of the happenings we’re most excited for. Let’s take a look at our top anticipated Easter events in El Paso for this wild year of 2019.

Easter Eggstravaganza 2019!

When? Saturday, April 13 at 10 am

Where? Reynolds Home, 8023 San Jose Rd, El Paso TX

Taking place at the Reynolds home, this bash is for those who want to get the jump on Easter a week early. It will cover all the bases- egg hunts for all ages, games, food, pictures with the Easter bunny, and more. There is a suggested donation of $5 to get access to this Easter joy.

Eggstravaganzoo & Party for the Planet

When? Saturday, April 20 from 4 pm to 10 pm

Where? El Paso Zoo, 4001 E Paisano Dr, El Paso TX

This unique event at the El Paso Zoo combines two key events- Earth Day weekend and Easter. Yep, this is for all you hippies out there, and we mean that in a good way.

There’s going to be a lot of cool stuff going down, including inflatables, magic shows, live entertainment, and photo opportunities with the Easter bunny. On the “save the planet” side of things, there will be community partners teaching about the Earth’s resources (we’re guessing they’re not going to say that resources are infinite and we can do whatever we please with them).

Participants will also be able to “travel around the world at the Zoo” with their “passport to Eggventure.” There will be stops at “Eggtivity Stations” to get candy prizes (ages 3-12 only please). Eggucation will teach participants about nests, habitats, and real eggs. You’ll even get to watch animals enjoying their own egg hunts and “Eggrichment treats.”

The Eggstravaganzoo & Party for the Planet is free with regular zoo admission. As always, this excludes certain zoo activities like train rides and Giraffe feeding, along with Easter Bunny photos; snaps with the egg-obsessed rabbit start at $10.

For the day of Easter itself, we’re intrigued by the Easter Brunch & Egg Hunt taking place at Painted Dunes Desert Golf Course. Activities here will include the titular brunch and egg hunt, as well as jumping balloons and games on the lawn.

There will be three different seatings taking place (see above for times). Reservations are required, so get your tickets online at the Painted Dunes website. The cost is $25.95 for adults and $12.50 for kids aged 4-12.

2018 Trick or Treat Hours in the El Paso area

As sweet as it may be, El Paso County is far from petite. As a matter of fact, the El Paso region takes up a large amount of Western Texas. So, when planning your Halloween in the area, you may as well ask, “What are the best places to trick or treat in Western Texas?” Furthermore, in order to come up with a schedule, you’ll need to know the 2018 trick or treat hours in the El Paso area. Thankfully, these don’t vary too much from year to the next.

Historically speaking, trick-or-treating in El Paso County generally begins at about 6 p.m. on Halloween. While most neighborhoods usually participate in the festivities until 8:30 or 9:00 p.m., we highly recommend getting there earlier rather than later. After all, the last thing that anyone wants to experience on Halloween is a neighborhood all out of candy. Sure, it’s a holiday dedicated to spooks and scares, but that’s just terrifying!
