Nissan Pathfinder Now Offers Improved Off-Road Capability and Features with Rock Creek

The Nissan Pathfinder has experienced notable redesigns over the years. Less than a decade ago the rugged and reliable SUV received a third row and offered seating for up to seven passengers. The fan favorite for those in the El Paso and Las Cruces, TX region was redesigned again just over a year ago with a more modern look inside and out.

As the SUV proves to be a more and more competitive entry in its segment, the Nissan Pathfinder refuses to rest on its laurels for long. Do not let the new rugged approach to design fool you though. Nissan continues to prioritize comfort and convenience right alongside the brand-new opportunity for taking the Pathfinder off road.

With design nods to models as far back as the original in 1989—when it was classified as a truck—the newest Nissan Pathfinder stretches its prowess by extending the wheelbase in almost every direction. This change allows for even more cargo space and headroom than ever before.

More a Movement Than a Marketing Strategy

There is a greater purpose behind the newest model of Pathfinder than just offering an option for off-road enthusiasts. Nissan has partnered with the nonprofit organization Tread Lightly as part of a greater initiative to protect and enhance access to outdoor recreation.

Through education, training, and other programs, the collaboration is creating a healthier relationship between those looking to get outdoors and the sustainability of the outdoors themselves.

From the Juando Pass to The Wall to Red Sands, El Paso and Las Cruces feature several spots where the new Nissan Pathfinder Rock Creek will make for adventure in the great outdoors throughout the area.

The Nissan Pathfinder Rock Creek takes off-roading to a whole new level right off the showroom floor. Thanks to its exclusive intelligent four-wheel drive, all-terrain tires, a specifically tuned suspension, and multifaceted roof rack that screams strength, the Pathfinder Rock Creek is turning heads while taking on nature.

Technology that Makes Going Off Road Feel More on Point

The Intelligent Around View® Monitor in the Nissan Pathfinder Rock Creek provides perfect vision of whatever its driver is traversing. Cameras providing multiple angles of what is beside, behind, and below directly on the dash make conquering every terrain smarter. There is no guess work thanks to having eyes on every obstacle around.

Stepping inside the Nissan Pathfinder Rock Creek reveals a refined cabin with comforts that keep those inside the SUV safe and snug while enjoying the paths less traveled. Nissan has thought of it all when it comes to matching the inside with what you face on the outside.

A Civilized Interior to Compliment the Rugged Outdoors

Detailed design includes weather-resistance seat material so the cabin does not fall victim to the elements and your Nissan Pathfinder Rock Creek stays refined for nights out on the town and off the trail.

As an added touch, Nissan includes the Rock Creek logo throughout the vehicle, featuring a badge on the exterior and embossed in multiple locations inside with stitching to match. With multiply packages, colors, and versions to choose from, putting together your Nissan Pathfinder Rock Creek with genuine Nissan accessories is almost as fun as driving it.

Everything You Need to Know About the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder | Charlie Clark Nissan El Paso Blog

One of Nissan’s flagship vehicles, the Pathfinder, is in receipt of a comprehensive stylish makeover that Nissan hopes will see it regain the ground it has lost in recent years to vehicles such as the Toyota Highlander and the Hyundai Palisade. If you are looking for a strong, sturdy and reliable vehicle with plenty of cargo space, the ability to tow trailers and some off road capability, then the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder should be exactly what you are looking for.

The 2022 version of the Pathfinder has a powerful V6 engine that is paired to a nine-speed automatic transmission. The SUV comes with FWD fitted as standard, so if you intend to spend some time in your Pathfinder off road, then you will want to upgrade to the AWD option. The latest version of the Nissan Pathfinder is again a three-row SUV with space for up to eight passengers. The infotainment features of the Pathfinder have been upgraded too, and increased tech is available via a series of potential upgrades.

The 2022 Pathfinder is all-new from the ground-up. Every inch of the vehicle was carefully designed to convey a sense of strength and capability with a strong front face, wide stance, blister fenders and a shorter front overhang (versus the previous design).

The 2022 Nissan Pathfinder, so what’s new?

The first thing you will probably notice about the new version of the Pathfinder is its impressive new look. The appearance of the 2020 model was not well-received, with many people condemning it as lackluster. This new Pathfinder has taken a more modern approach with a return to the more rugged looking Pathfinders of old.

The two base trims of the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder (S and SV) both come with an advanced set of driver assistance features, but it is likely to be the next trim up (SL) that is going to be the most popular. With the SL trim drivers receive a 9.0-inch infotainment system complete with a 360-degree camera which features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. With the SL’s premier package more luxuries become available, including a panoramic sunroof, a Bose stereo system, 20-inch wheels, heated rear seats and wireless smartphone charging.

Performance, Transmission and Power in the all-new 2022 Nissan Pathfinder

One of the biggest changes with the 2022 version of the Nissan Pathfinder is the dropping of the continuously-variable automatic transmission. It has been replaced by a new nine-speed automatic transmission although the same powertrain as from the previous generation – 284-hp 3.5-liter V-6 engine – has been retained. In testing, the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder accelerates from a standing start to 60 mph in 6.7 seconds.

Despite these upgrades the handling of the new Pathfinder has not changed much, although a more comfortable ride over rugged terrain in particular is aided by sound deadening agents meaning the noise experienced within the cabin is maintained at a minimum.

In terms of fuel efficiency, the EPA has rated the Pathfinder at 23 mpg combined (21 city, 27 highway) for the AWD, with very little difference for the FWD model.

2022 Nissan Pathfinder – Cargo and Comfort

Again, the previous generation of the Nissan Pathfinder came in for criticism over the dated design of its interior. This criticism has spurred Nissan on to completely update the look of the interior of the Nissan, with stylings closer to that of a truck than a standard SUV. There is also more cabin storage space, while higher trim versions come with extra luxuries such as semi-aniline leather upholstery, a panoramic sunroof and ventilated front seats.
