Favorite Texas Songs to Listen to When Road Tripping Around the Lone Star State

You know the old saying, “everything is bigger in Texas”. Here at Charlie Clark Nissan-El Paso, we definitely believe that to be true – especially when we need to road trip across the state! From El Paso, it is 552 miles to San Antonio, 635 miles to Dallas, and 745 miles to Houston. That means you will be on the road for many hours. While you can certainly binge-listen to some of our favorite Texas-themed podcasts, we know that you are going to want to listen to some music at some point.

Of the millions of songs that have been recorded over the last century, several refer to and celebrate Texas in some way – whether it is the state itself, the cities and towns, falling in love with a Texan, being homesick for the Lone Star State, or praising the football teams. We are huge fans of Spotify and have been working on creating the ultimate playlist that features our favorite Texas songs. If you are hoping to create your own special Texas-themed playlist before you hit the road, we recommend including:

“The Texas Song” by Sandy Cheeks from the Spongebob Squarepants TV show

“If You’re Gonna Play in Texas (You Gotta Have a Fiddle in the Band)” by Alabama

“Walker, Texas Ranger Theme Song” by Chuck Norris

“Texas Tornado” by Tracey Lawrence

“All My Ex’s Live in Texas” by George Strait

“Does Fort Worth Ever Cross Your Mind?” by George Strait
